    AP Poll is out.....

UGA ranked #1 to start. Not a chance they make it through the regular season with less than 2 losses, IMO. Just too tough to navigate the SEC and that road trip out to Arizona in the 100 degree desert heat isn't going to be easy. ASU is going to be a very good team offensively this year. I haven't seen the schedule rankings, but if anyone has a tougher schedule than UGA i would like to see it. At ASU, AUB, SCAR, LSU and then home games with TENN, FLA and ALA. There are 2 losses in there for sure, IMO.

My prediction to play in the BCS championship game:

THE Ohio State University vs. USC or Clemson

Even if OSU loses at USC, they won't drop far and then really only play 1 more tough game the rest of the year, which is at Madison. I think they spank ILL on the road in a payback special. Other than that everything is at home.

ONLY IF USC beats OSU as i can't seem them losing more than 1 game in the Pac10. They get all 3 of the other contenders at home in ORE, ASU and CAL. UPSET ALERT: Road game at ARI on 10/25. ARI has a history of playing teams like USC tough and beating them. Not sure a loss to OSU and a Pac10 loss would be good enough to get them in at 10-2.

    SLEEEPER TEAM:

CLEM is my sleeper to make it in. They get SCAR at home and have road games at Virginia and BC which should be winners. The 2 tests will be at FSU and WFU. Should they get by both of those games, i feel they get to the ACC title game with 1 loss max and a very good chance of making it in. Here is why they won't. TOMMY BOWDEN. He is the Dusty Baker of College Football. He couldn't stay out of the way long enough to win an 11on 0 scrimmage.

Should any of those teams falter i think you will have a representative from the Big12 in either MIZZOU or OKLA which i think is your big12 title game. OKL has a very favorable schedule drawing TacoTech, Nebraska and KU all at home while dodging MIZZOU. They have road games at TXAM and OKST which are both winnable (but can also be upset alerts). MIZZOU has 2 big bullets to dodge in games at TEX and NEB. I see them getting to the championship game with probably 1 loss.

in the end who knows. There are going to be a bunch of 1 and 2 loss teams again this year and i could see MIZZOU/OKLA winner, CLEM, USC and OSU all with 1 loss at the end of the year. Then you can even throw in a BYU or UTAH at 11-1 as well if things fall right.

I just can't see anyone coming out of the SEC with less than 2 losses and i don't think that is going to be good enough this year. But who knows.

3 non power conference schools to keep and eye on are UTAH, SOFLA and PITT. A season opening win at Michigan which is very possible might catepult UTAH to an undefeated season. PITT and SOFLA battle for the bigeast title. I think SOFLA got its bumps out of the way last year as far as dealing with prosperity and PITT is a team nobody is talking about and could win the BigEast.

      yeah, i agree on PITT.

I don't know what you're going to come up with on the "MAC predictions" but in just about every publication i've seen, they are all about the same. I see Miami(oh) and BGSU battling on one side and CMU taking the other side with WMU and BallState as possible sleepers (but WMU has both CMU and BallState on the road which won't help).

The one team that did garner the biggest swings in terms of where they were positioned was TOL. They return like 16 guys (most underclassmen) and had a good offense last year. It was noted in Steele's publication that they are the only West team to draw both BGSU and Miami(oh) and have 3 road games on their side (out of 5 games), so the schedule isn't kind to them. I saw them picked anywhere from 2nd to 5th and quite frankly i think they are the biggest unknown in that conference. BUT.....they get CMU and BallState at HOME and they also get both Miami(oh) and BGSU at HOME....and both of those are Friday primetime TV games. Their road schedule really isn't that tough with trips to EMU, NIU and then a tough one at WMU. This will be one team i will keep an eye on and that you might get some good numbers on based on the fact they are picked near the bottom in most publications, so they won't be a "trendy" team for openers. If they can get a W at EMU and then take care of business vs. BallState in their second conference game (Home team is 11-3 L14 in the series, BUT BallState is a pretty amazing 9-2 in its last 11 conference road games...something has to give) then they should be in good shape. If they tank 1 or both of those i think it may be a long season as it doesn't get easier from there.

With like 16+ starters returning for both Miami(oh) and BGSU, i really can't see any other team on that side creeping up and stealing the MAC East. I lean to BGSU to win it in the East based on their 3 home games vs. the EAST AND they get Miami(oh) at home...............BUT BUT BUT....BGSU is 1-9 vs. Miami i read in i think it was sporting news so that game is no gimme.

Anyway, MAC should be interesting as always. Fun conference to follow and a fun conference to bet. Seems like the only thing that stays constant in that league is that the Purple suits from Ypsilanti will finish near the bottom....

The schedule looks so nice for a run at a big east title for this team.

The big thing is the offensive line, they need to find a way to replace a couple of good players who were lost to graduation. They have a couple good recruits on the o-line and CJ Davis is a veteran on that o-line who has some experience. A true freshman named NIX is supposed to make an immediate impact... That O Line is the key. The defense will be solid and the QB play should be fine. It's pretty deep atleast with a couple of options in Bill Stull and Pat Bostick... The receivers should be great .. The return of Derek Kinder and the the arrival of Johnathan Baldwin should keep defenses honest so they can't stack the line to shut down McCoy. BOY is he something.. There are signs all over the place around here. Billboards with TONY DORSETT on one side of the Billboard and McCoy on the other and in the middle it says RECORDS ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN..

We'll have to see about that , but i know one thing, McCoy is great. Speed, toughness, and very versatile.

You've pretty much nailed it for my top picks.....I look for a rumble from Temple in the East believe it or not and for the Owls to finish ahead of Akron and OhioU! I'll still give ya my best analysis with some players to watch, etc. for the season.

I think TOL is still the most interesting team of all in that whole league. Will be interested to see where you think they finish. 16 returners but mostly underclassmen. I just can't see them finishing 5th like i saw in a couple of publications. If i catch points with them at EMU i will probably give them a go in that 2nd week.

Wow i completely disgree with a couple of those rankings.

                              1) PITT finishing 6th in the big east....:dunno:.....UConn and UC aren't going to sneak up on people like they did last year and UC lost their QB Mach who was the hart and sole of that team from what i can see. I think PITT finishes in the top3.

                              2) NEB finishing 4th in the Big12 North....:dunno:....i have seen them no lower than 3rd. I guess with new coaches, new schemes and only 12 returning starters, blue ribbon is down on them. I actually think they may be a sleeper team this year and a good money machine...but we shall see.

                              3) TacoTech will finish 2nd in the Big12 South. Texas is getting way too much credit. They only have 10 returning starters and McCoy stinks. Plus TacoTech gets Texas at home.

                              4) AUB wins the SEC West....so long as they can get solid QB play. But the same can be said for LSU. AUB really has an "easy" SEC schedule so far as you can say that with roadies against an awful Vandy team, MissSt, OlePiss....then they do play at Alabama to finish the season. LSU on the other hand plays at AUB, FLA, SCAR and ARK which to me is a heck of a lot tougher, plus they draw Georgia as well. And when comparing who they play from the East....Auburn plays Vandy, Tenn and UGA while LSU draws both Florida and UGA and plays at SCAR. Much tougher, IMO as i think FLA is going to be a very good team.

i think the Pac10 and ACC are pretty spot on....
