    WVU/OK Feista Bowl Time

OK guys Im going to go out on a limb here. You think this team is done because Coach Rod is gone. Well you think those guys forgot what he taught them. I dont think so. They are more happy and fired up since he has not been running practice. Coach Stewart has this team ready. OK's big boy in defense (DT) Granger got caught stealing a coat in AZ this week and was sent home. Big hole to fill. This pretty much tells me that Pat White can rest alittle bit easy that the run stuffers not there to play. Anyway guys here are my picks for tonights game. Just because I live here and root for WVU did not sway how I picked today. These are not picks because I want WVU to win. I just know this game's not going to go the way America thinks it will.

    475 West Virginia +7.5 +100
    475 West Virginia+265

I was going to play the over 62.5 but will pass due to knowing I need both teams to score to help this go over and I dont want to set here and root for OK to score.

GL Guys on whatever you play

queen- GL!....and happy new year!.....i would be shocked if WVU wins this game. They haven't played a single lick of defense all year long and we are beginning to see just how piss poor the big east was this year as these bowl games play out. now i am one who doesn't put a whole lot of stock in bowl results as teams can come in with less than interested mindsets (see ASU). But the fact that SoFlorida got waxed by a Pac10 team on their 5th QB and UConn got blasted by an average WFU team once they woke up is just another indictment on how bad that conference really was this year. Not to mention WVU lost to a really average at best PITT team at home no less to end the season. I don't think i could exactly get fired up about backing WVU today. Whatever you want to say about it, distractions are never a good thing which i think is why teams who lost their coach are now 0-8 i believe in bowl games (0 and something close to that). I also would be shocked to get a poor performance from OU after last year's debacle in the desert.

But i am on OU -1/2 in a left over teaser, so maybe it lands in between and we can both win.....:beerbang:

Shocker...but Michigan actually won yesterday...as hard as it is to believe that a Big 11 team could beat and SEC team it actually happened...I think? Other teams that covered with a fallen coach...

        Navy
        UCLA

        to name a couple:beer2:

I don't know what I'm talking about...lol...but I think FF meant the teams w/o their coach for the bowl game, like the awol Rodriguez bailing on the team before tonight.....Lloyd Carr coached the win yesterday.

 ......takes a dang candien guy to help Bo with his CFB....

and Bo- they tossed this stat out yesterday that the big10 is now 6-3 vs. SEC on bowls the past 3 or so years and has a winning record vs. the SEC over the past like 7 years. so this whole "sec always pounds the big10" stuff is not really true i hate to say it..........

I really do think they win the game here today. Coach Rod leaving did not disrupt this team one bit. If it did anything it fired them up. Practice has been more relaxed and going great. I think OK has more distractions on defense with DT, DT and CB not playing. I understand they got people to fill in but it's kind of like leaving a hole open for White to run as he pleases. The loss to Pitt happened and somebody will argue with me over this is because they where due for a loss. I dont care if Pitt sucked this year a rival game can fire up anyone.

This is why they play the game.

ive never once said the big10 is better.....would be a foolish comment....but the whole notion that the SEC isn't beatable is hogwash (no pun intended). and if you guys ever ventured out of conference to play other good teams you would find that out (like AUB and ARK found out when they played USC and got waxed home and away, and TENN found out when they went to CAL etc....ALA came out to UCLA in the early 2000's as the number 1 team in the nation and got WAXED like 41-7......). Talent gap isn't as big as you think in all honesty, what makes the SEC the best conference isn't that the teams are better....it's the fact that there are more good teams in the SEC than any other conference and because of all of the rivalries, you have to get up for a tough game every week for the most part. But to think the SEC is dominant vs. the rest of the good teams is rediculous. And if teams like Alabama and Auburn and LSU ventured out of conference to play good teams they would find that out. Auburn ran back to Auburnville with its tail between its legs after USC dismantled them.........lol.....:beerbang:

queen- there isn't one impressive win on WVU schedule this year and their D is a sieve, which is my reasoning for not being able to back them. OKLA will be the best team they have played all year long. But who knows, maybe you're going to be right as anything can happen during bowl season.......:beerbang: ...GL!......

I never quoted you, as I know your smarter than that:)You are cracking my **** up though!!!!Auburnville?LMFAO! We did get dismantled by USC and we had the Caddy and Brown running....that would not have been the case in 2004, but that is all speculation. The main reason we dont venture too far from the mason dixon is for the reason you stated the in conference schedule precludes our out of conference schedule...though we did take on the power that was SoFlo:laughing: I agree it is not the fact the teams are better but there are more good teams. I wish we could have an out of conference that included the likes of Youngstown State, Kent, and Akron...but that would be quite a schedule on top of Florida, Arkansas, LSU, Tenn et al...Thanks I will be laughing long into the night with the "Auburnville" comment! Sorry Q..go Neer's!!!

What where we last year at the Sugar Bowl a +7.5 Dog againist GA and we had no chance.

You know they aways want to ditch the Defense for WVU but the did step up in the Pitt game and the SFLA game and do a very good job. The offense did not do their job. I can totally remember every play by play on the SFLA game, but the offense screwed up and set up two SFLA easy TD's.

queen- i just can't back the big east this year is what it gets down to i guess. When your Co- conference champion was outstatted in EVERY conference game but 1 that it played...doesn't say much for that conference.

I also think WVU snuck up on UGA that year when they played, and they aren't going to sneak up on anyone this year. And i just don't think you can all of a sudden forget you just choked away at home a chance to play for the NC 3 weeks ago.

And when i see ORE completely dismantle SoFlorida with their 5th string QB and a very average WFU manhandle Uconn once they woke up in that one, i am even less impressed with the bigeast this year.

GL!.......will be interesting to see the crowd breakdown tonight as far as who has more people. I wonder how many made the trip from WVU?

Funny thing is, that one of these games is due to go sideways as USC and UGA both romped....and with everyone on OKLA it will probably be this one that goes to WVU. OKLA is certainly not my favorite bowl team to back, that is for sure based on past history.
