I'm betting Mizzou either way, so I'm putting it in now just in case at -3. I got LSU in at -3 a couple weeks ago and want to lock this in too. I don't care if it goes down because if Mizzou wins I don't think the spread will matter anyway.
"A report by KARK-TV, Channel 4, in Little Rock claimed that Arkansas junior tailback Darren McFadden was present when sports agent Mike Conley recently purchased a Cadillac Escalade, which the station said was put in the name of McFadden’s mother, Mini Muhammad.
University of Arkansas officials would not comment on the accuracy of the report.
“We’re aware of the report,” said Kevin Trainor, Arkansas associate athletic director for external affairs. “The situation is under review.” Muhammad, reached at her home in Little Rock, said neither she nor her son owned the Escalade.
“Mike Conley hasn’t bought nothing, and it ain’t in my name,” Muhammad said. “It’s his stepmom’s, Ella McFadden’s. Really, the truck is on loan. Darren drove that down [to Dallas ] to see how he’d like it, and maybe he’d get one later."
Its been on the news here, but they report that it won't make him ineligible. Reporting that it's not his agent, but McFadden was present at the purchase. The university is checking into possible NCAA violations.
It didn't make the front page of the Little Rock paper, so they must not think there is anything to it, but it's the hot topic of conversation around here. Believe me, if they thought it was a big story, it would have been on the front page, although the local media has been burnt recently by jumping on a hot story (ex. Jim Grobe, Dana Altman, Houston Nutt), so they are being cautious on this one.
It's not the smartest move he has ever made. I personally think that he doesn't want to risk being injured and really would rather not take the risk of playing in a bowl game, so he pulled a stunt like this.
