This will be the 1st Time these 2 Teams have Played Each Other...E Car Really Thought they would be in the Liberty Bowl Playing to Win It..E Car is Happy to be in Hawii but Feel Slighted..That is Not Good to do to a Football Team...E Car can Bring Excitment to a Bowl Game like in 2001 vs Marshall in GMAC Bowl where Final was 64-61 in 2 OT...and Bring a 4-4 Record in Bowl Play...Add to That E Car Played Tough Non Conf Schedule Including 3 ACC Teams and Big East Team West Va (2 Top 10) Going 1-3 SU and ATS...Also E Car has Faced 6 Bowl Teams going 3-3 SU and 4-2 ATS Only being Outscored by 34-30..E Car Opened on Road at Va Tech and Played but Lost to them in a 17-7 Game..Tough Way to Start the Season but Coach Holtz (Skip) are Not Afraid to Play Anyone...While B St Played Weber St..S Miss and Washington...That is Way the Strength of Schedule of B St is #113th and Strength of Schedule of E Car is #80th...E Car is 6-2 ATS their Last 8 Games Overall...B St has Played Under 8-2 in their Last 10 Non-Conf Games...B St Voted to go to this Bowl instead of staying Home for Humanitarian Bowl...This will be B St 6th Consectative Bowl Game and 8th in 9 Years..B St Main Offensive Weapoon is RB Ian Johnson with ..1030 Yrads Rushing Ave 5.1/Carry...QB Tharp 68 % Comp...3070 Yards..28TDs/INTs...E Car Main Weapoons are RB Chris Johnson..1200 Yrads..16 TDs Ave 5.8 Yards/Carry and 2 QBs..Pinkney and Kass...I Like the Pinkney at QB Better and Hope he Hets the Playing Time Tonite the Most...Because he can Throw at a Higher % Comp and Runs the Ball Much Better..Bigger and Stronger...Of the 5 E Car Loses..3 were to BCS Schools and 2 to BCS Bowl Teams (Va Tech and WV) this Season...Overall...B St Offense has Ave 42.8 Points/Game and E Car Offense Ave 30.2 Points/Game with E Car Def Givivg up 29.8 Yards/Game while B St is Giving Up 20 Points/Game...Since B St made the Trip to Hawaii Only about 1000 Tickets were Sold Compared to Last Year when B St Played Oklahoma in Fiesta Bowl and Won 43-42 in OT...(Tieing the Game with 7 Secs Left with a Hook and Latter Play for TD...B St Last Game was at Aloha Stadium and Lost 39-27 to Hawaii...E Car Scored 7 1/2 More Points/Game this Season...E Car Defense Started 1st game Stong Only Allowing Va Tech 17 Points and Last 4 Teams Played Ave Only 21 Points per Game...Add to That B St Defense Only Allowing 20 Points Per Game..Think you See a Good Offensive Game that Goes Under the Total with Total Score in Low Upper 50's to Low 60's and a East Carolina Team that will Keep this Game Closer than Most Think..I Have Boise St Winning by 8.9 Points...So..Me Thinks...

1...1 Nite......6-6 on Bowls...Need to Shift Gears Next Week...I Liked this as One with East Carolina Playing..Saw Both Teams and Thought they were Pretty Even....This was One of Best Dogs Playing in Bowls....BOL.....:sm:

Motor City Bowl: 12/26

(7-5) Purdue at (8-5) C Michigan

Purd has Been to a Bowl 10 of the Last 11 Years..This will be the 2nd Meeting for Both Teams when in Week 3 (Aug 15th) when Purdue Won 45-22 (31-0 at Half) after Purd Jumped out to a 24-0 Point Lead in Less than 13 Minutes of 1st Q...Purd had a 5-0 Record to Start the Year but Lost 5 of Last 7 Games (Including Last 3 Games)...Purd had 5 Turnovers and Still Won the Game a Large Amount and had 586 Yards of Total Offense..Last 6 Games Purd has had a Problem Starting the Game Fast by being Outscored 95-0..This will be the 1st Time Purd has Played at Ford Field at Detroit, Michigan while C Mich is 3-0 SU and ATS the Last 2 Years Including 2 MAC Championship Games...Crowd Edge would be in C Mich Favor in which 15,000 Tickets were sold were Purdue only sold around 5,000...Purd has the Most Veteran Team under Coach Tiller with 9 Sr Starters and 17 Upperclassmen..C Mich also has 9 Sr Starters and 14 Upperclassmen Including the MAC Freshman of the Year in WR Antonio Brown who Caught 98 Balls for Over 900 Yards and Add WR Anderson who Caught 83 Balls for Over 100 yards made a Nice Combo for QB LeFavour to Throw...Then Add in the Offense Power of LeFavor (Who is #5th in NCAA in Total Offense)..who was Only the 2nd QB to Pass for/Over 3000 Yards (3360 Yards) and Run for/Over 1000 Yards (1008 Yards) the QB was Vince Young from Texas....Purd was 5-0 and Ranked #23 in Nation then Fell Apart with Only Wins being..Iowa 31-6 and Northwestern 35-17 at Home..then dropped Last 3 Games..Purd was Lead by QB Painter..3300 Yards Passing with 26 TDs/9 Ints..and RBs Sheets Ave 5.3 Yards/Carry and Taylor Ave 5.6 Yards/Carry...WRs Bryant 82 Balls for 871 Yards and Keller 61 Balls for 731 Yards...Problem with C Mich is that their Offense is Great but their Defense is Giving Up an Ave of 35.8 Points/game in which 5 Games they Gave up Over 40 Points and 2 Games Over 50 Points...Weakest Spot on C Mich Defense is their Secondary...The Difference bewteen this game from 1st Meeting is that C Mich has Played Better as the Year Went on while Purd Struggled Down the Stretch...Also have to Think About Purd Played their Last Game on Nov 17th in a 27-24 Loss at Indiana while C Mich Last Played this Month on December 1st...C Mich Over is 7-1-1 Last 9 Non-Conf Games and Over is 7-1 Last 8 Games Overall..7 of Last 8 Games Went Over But Only 3 of the 12 Games went Over 73 Points...Were Purd had 3 of their 12 Games this Season go Over 71 Points (76,76,79)...Purd is 7-17 ATS vs Team with a Winning Record and 3-7 ATS in their Last 10 Games VS the MAC...Strength of Schedule still Favors Purd at #68th and C Mich at #84th...This Game Really has had Me Thinking of Which Team Shows Up for the Game on either Side...If Both Play their Best Ball...Then Purdue Wins By 2 TDs or More by Talent...But I Just have a Funny Feeling that C Mich will come to play and Purd is Not Happy to be in a Bowl Like Moter City Bowl when the Future Looked so Bright after a 5-0 Start..Just 1 Game from Bowl Bound at Week 5...Purd is 7-7 All Time in Bowl Games and has Lost 3 Straight...and it is Hard to Pick Vs a QB that has 41 TDS..17 Rushing and 23 Passing and Help Win the MAC Championship Vs Miami (OH)..35-10 Just Back on Dec 1st..C Mich to have a Chance to Win Must Slow Dowm Purd Offense and Keep them on the Bench because RB Sheets Ran for 144 Yards and 2 TDs and Painter threw for 360 Yards (29 for 39 Passing)..If You Like C Mich the Total Should Go Under because they Must Shorten the Game..If Purd is Your Play the Over should be more Likely...Add to the Fact that Turnovers Could be a Factor but Purd had 5 and Still Won Big Last Game..So ???...Maybe C Mich Defense found Itself in MAC Championship Game Holding Miami(OH) to 10 Points...Must Games with Great/Good Offense in a Dome will Put the Points Up...and This is hard to Do But I'm Playing the Under when this Game could Be one of the Highest Scoring Bowls this Season...I Have Purd Winning by 6.54 Points...But I Think the Game will be in the 30's by Both Teams and Final Around 34-31...37-30...Somewhere in There...Less Scoring in 2nd Half when the Team Ahead Slows and Runs the Clock...So...Me Thinks....

Last 6 Games Purd has had a Problem Starting the Game Fast by being Outscored 95-0...Were Purd had 3 of their 12 Games this Season go Over 71 Points (76,76,79).....This Game Really has had Me Thinking of Which Team Shows Up...If Purd is Your Play the Over should be more Likely..Most Games with Great/Good Offense will Score..and This is hard to Do But I'm Playing the Under when this Game could Be one of the Highest Scoring Bowls this Season...

Thursday Nite Game: HOLIDAY BOWL (Quaicomm Stadium San Diego ,CA): 8:00 PM ESPN

#17 (9-3) Texas vs #11 (10-2) Arizona St

Big 12 Vs Pac 10..Have the 1st Bowl to Feature 2 Ranked Teams in Top 20 that are Both Coming Playing in a Bowl that Both Teams Thought they would be Playing on New Year Day....Texas was a High Pre-Season Pick even in Top 5 in Some Polls and Had a Bad Stretch when They Lost to Kansas St..41-21 and Oklahoma..28-21 Both Bad Big 12 Loses that had Texas 9-2 Going into their Last Game at Rival Texas A&M..which Only had a 6-5 Record...But Beat Texas 38-30 to Give them Their 7 Win But More Important Outcome was it Dropped Texas to 9-3 and Out of Any Big Bowl (2nd Straight Year Tes A&M Beat Tex)...Were Arz St was Picked by Most "Experts" or Magazines to Finish around 4th to 6th in the Pac 10 under 1st Year Head Coach Denis Erickson..Arz St had a Great 8-0 Start Including Pac 10 Wins Over Cal..Wash..Wash St..Stanf..and Oreg St then went 2-2 the Last 4 Games with Lost at Oreg 35-23 (Which Looked like the Team to Win the Conf until QB Dixon was Hurt)..Win at UCLA..24-20...Loss vs USC..44-24 (When USC got Back Healthy)..then Last Win Vs Rival Arizona 20-17...Great Season for a Team that was Picked to Finish Low...1st Meeting between Tex and Arz St...Tex is Making a Bowl Trip for 10 Straight Years and in Holiday Bowl Tex is 1-2 SU and 0-3 ATS and are 0-5 ATS since 1995 in NON Jan 1st Bowl Games..Mental Letdown when they Play in a "Lessor" Bowl...Arz St is 0-2 SU but 2-0 ATS in 2 Games Played in Holiday Bowl..This will be the 4th Team Coach Erickson has Taking to a Bowl Game...So Both Coaches have the Experiance...Really Both Teams are Disappointed to be in this Bowl...But Really Feal Tex has more disappointment than Arz St Since were Arz St was Picked at the 1st of the Year and Erickson will make Sure that Remember that before Game Time...Arz St is 6-16 ATS as Away Dogs and Tex is 2-7-1 as Away Favorites so Both Lack there...Main Player for Tex is QB McCoy...3129 Yards with 21 TDs and 18 INTs..(Which had a Slump compared to Feshman Yr..29 TDs and 7 INTs) and Running Back Jamaal Charles...1458 Yards..16 TDs with 6.3 Ave Rushing...Arz St is Lead by QB Carpenter..3015 Yards..23 TDs..8 INTs....and RB Keegan Kerring..816 Yards 5 TDs with 5.4 Ave (RB Torain is Out for Season had 553 Yards with 5.0 Ave)...Arz St Defense Held 4 of the 1st 5 Teams Under/At 14 Points/Game...Finishing with the #28th Overall Ranked Defense Only Allowing 334.4 Yards/Game...Tex is Ranked #55th Overall in Total Defense Allowing 374.8 Yards/Game...Then Conversely Tex Ave 462 Yards/Game in Total Offense Ranking # 14th and Arz St Ave 405.7 Yrads/Game Ranking them at #53rd Overall...Tex is 8-2 Over Last 10 Games as a Favorite and 7-2 Over Last 9 Games on Grass and 10-3 Over Last 13 Non Conf Games(But most of those game were Below this Total Mainly in 50's)...Arz St is 12-3 Under Last 15 Games Overall and Under in 9 of Last 12 Games on Grass...Something has to Give on the Total Tonite..Tex Plays in Overs and Arz St in Unders...Concern for Tex is that QB McCoy has throw an INT in Each Game but vs Rice and Iowa St (Which Ranked Poorly Vs the Pass)...Also a Similar Trait to Both Teams is Falling Behind in 1st Half Only to Catch up in the 2nd Half and Win the Game...So Worry is that Arz St did not Cover their Last 4 Games Going 2-2 SU But 0-4 ATS...But I Think Arz St Lines were Over inflated Because of their 8-0 Record...Tex Offense Ave 36 Pts/G and Arz St Offense Ave 32.2 pts/G...Tex Defense Alows 24.6 pts/G and Arz St Defense Only Allowed 20.1 pts/G...Here is what I See...Tex has Shown in the Past they Play Each Season for Big 10 Title and Nationial Championship and have Once Again Fallen Short then Going 0-5 ATS in NON Jan 1st Bowls..while Even After that Great 8-0 Start Arz St while be Ready to Play Tonite After Coach Erickson Reminds them how Far they Come Finishing with an 10-2 Record and Ranked 11th (or 12th) Depending on Poll and Being the Co-Champs of the PAC 10 (USC was Picked for Rose Bowl as Co-Champ) and Arz St Hopes of Fiesta Bowl Fell Thru But They Now Play a Texas Team that Was Highly Ranked and Can Prove that They Belong Here and Mostly Likely even in a Better Bowl by Beating Texas...So Have the Texas Offense vs Arizona St Defense as Main Factor on seeing Which Team Wins But Like the Arz St Off vs the Texas Def Since it has Shown to Give up some Points..43 to Texas Tech..35 to Oklahoma St and 38 to Texas A&M...Last 3 Games of Year...Hope to See a 31-28..30-27 Type of Game with Arizona St Proving they are a Team to be Reckoned With...So...Me Thinks..***

4) Did I Say..Don't Piss the Other Team Off
5) Turnovers..2 INTS and 2 Fumbles and Bad Thought Process by QB
6) Maybe Learn to Keep Mouth Shut until After the Game
7) Stats Mean Nothing if the Team Starts the Game RUSTY...Look Above at #3
8) Just Play the Game the Old Way...Make a Play Don't Dance around and Bang Your Chest...ACT like you have done it Before
9) Last....Keep your Mouth Shut and Don't Piss Other Team Off
10) If you have a Top Ranked Defense...Then Play It

These 2 Teams have Played 25 Times before with TCU Going 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS Last 7 Times...this is TCU 2nd Trip in 3 Years (Former Houston Bowl) and their 9th Bowl Trip in 10 Years...This will be Hous 18th Bowl going 7-9-1 SU But their Last Win was Back in 1980...Hous Head Coach and 2 Top Offensive Coor have Left the Team (Coach Art Briles and Co-Offensive Coor have Gone to Baylor) and Interm Head Coach Chris Thurmond is Running the Team...Usually that Means the Team will Play a Rusty Style of Football without their Heac Coach There...Hous was Looking to be C USA Champs but was Hammered by Tulsa 56-7 on Nov 11th...Hous is Lead by RB Ringer with 1346 Yards...6 TDs and 6.0 Ave/Carry...Nice Stats...TCU is Also Lead by RB Turner...587 Yards..6 TDs and 5.2 Ave/Carry (Other Top RB was Hurt ..A Brown..Pre-Season Offensive Player of Year had 490 Yards with 4.6 Ave/Carry then was Hurt ..Out for Year)....TCU has Been Under in 8 of 10 Games as the Favorite and are 5-16 ATS Vs C USA...Pick which One of Those stats you Like and Play the Team based on That or I have Just got to Play the TCU Side Mainly because of the Shakeup of the Hous Team to End the Year...Just Don't Think the Team will be as Ready without the Head Coach or Offensive Coor there...I Have a Good Friend that Likes TCU as One of his Top Few Bowl Plays and Thinks They Win Big...Game will Go Under with Total in Low to Mid 50's with a TCU win of 34-21 Style of Game...So...Me Thinks....

1st Ever Meeting of these 2 Teams and Mary 1st Bowl game in State of California...this will be Mary 5th Bowl in 7 Years...Mary has Won their Last 3 Bowl and Coach Friedgen is 3-1 SU and ATS in Bowl Games...Oreg St has Won 6 of their Last 7 games going 6-1 ATS to Finish 3rd in Pac 10...But After that Arizona St Game it makes the Pac 10 Look Weaker than I Thought ...(with UCLA Also Losing in Bowl Game)...Org St did Not Rely on QBs to Lead them with an Combined 10 TDs and 20 INTs between the 2 QBs...Worst Ratio I have ever Seen in a Bowl Team....RB Berard Must Run for Org St to get the Win and Mary will Stuff the Line...Mary Played better the End of Season...Beating Boston College by TD and Lost at Flor St by 8pts then Beat NC St..37-0 to Finish the Year..I Really Believe Mary is in the Right Place while Org St is Going to have to Run to get the Job Done and Play Great Defense...and Mary has Held some Good ACC Backs to Low Yardage...Comes down to Org St has the Shutdown Defensive Team while Mary has the Better Offensive Team...Org St has a Good Kicking Game with Former Groza Winner Serna Kicking FGs and even Punting...Going with the Offensive Team and Give Coach Friedgen Weeks to Prepare a Team and They Play Well with Game Hitting Upper 40's to Low 50's as Total...So...Me Thinks...

Well...Another 500 Day/Nite....3-3....That Maryland 4th Q FG Miss Hurt the Cover on that Side and BC Giving Up TD Then 2pt Conv Hurt..TD was Bad but the 2pt Conv was a Killer...3-3 Nite Could/Would/Should have Been a 5-1 Nite...Last Game..Good Scoring 1st Half...28 Points...7 Points in 2nd Half.....But That is the Way it Goes...

Thanks...Shorts...Just Had those Split Days with One 0-2 Day....Season was Good to Me...But Ususally the Bowls are Giving me the Trouble which is Not the Cause in the Past...About DeadGarcia..??..I've E-mail with no Response back..But things were Not going the Best with Him and I'm Trying to Find his Number...BOL to Ya..!!
