completely agree flyers, its 51 days till the national championship game.
too many things can happen, the lines can change considerably and if a key player is out for any reason the lines will change a lot.

      Here are my 2 cents

Concerning OSU-LSU....Dorsey has a month to get rested and get back to full health and when he was at full health or at least healthier, he is a dominant force and this Ohio State team hasnt faced a defense with this kind of speed all season long, and I think because of how incredibly weak the Big 10 was this year and not playing anyone tough in the non conference games is going to really bite them in the ass when they run into LSU's athleticism, and I am sure Flynn, Doucet, Hester and will all be healthy when they meet OSU and I really am not expecting a close game here, LSU 27-10 type of win....the only thing I am worried about is the obvious coaching advantage to Tressel in this one, as I think Miles is an idiot, the guy almost blew a bunch of games for his team with just poor coaching...I really cant see Boeckman doing much vs LSU passing the ball, and as long they can stop Beanie Wells ....I am leaning towards LSU and I might be just looking at the conference strength and all the tough matchups LSU had all year to point to them winning, then so be it but I gotta back the Bayou Bengals playing a game in their backyard.....

As for Kansas, I kinda like them, I really think that they are going to want to prove everyone in the national media wrong, who is crying foul about them making it in over Mizzou, and this is the biggesst game in their program's history and I am going to wait to get as many points as I can in this one....

With most of you guys with USC, Oklahoma.....they have looked so good over the last weeks and it has been the offensive strength, but the ability to stop people that has made me have so much confidence in these two teams......

Georgia-Hawaii....its gonna be all Moreno all day long IMO....Hawaii is a nice story and all but the lack of quality opponents and catching all their tough competition on the island is a big reason this team went unbeaten...dont really want to touch this game though, because I feeel if GA gets up early Hawaii has the firepower to get that old fashioned backdoor....

so my official leans right now would be

      LSU -5.5
      USC -13.5
      Kansas +3.5
      Oklahoma -6.5

lots of chalk right now but I am not locking anything in because like it was said earlier....this is a long month before the bowls and weird things can happen

          wow. what bias

and by the way if we dont beat kansas by 4 touchdowns, that is sad
Stiff - You gotta ignore this guy and his sentiments, no? What a homer, is he kidding? They are going to beat Kansas "by 4 touchdowns"? Be serious Mr Hokie Slurper. The only teams that Va Tech beat by that much all season were William and Mary, Duke, and Miami (who fell apart). What respect is a team that lost to LSU by 41 points deserve? They both have two losses and LSU beat them by near 6 TD's and this guy thinks they deserve more than the Orange Bowl for winning an ACC conference that is deep, but had no real superstar teams?

I hope it keeps climbing so we get some more points with the JayHawks. Va Tech hasn't faced a spread offense team all season and I think it could give them plenty of trouble.

How is it 51 days till the championship game? That would mean it's sometime in the end of January?? I'm too lazy to figure it out, but that doesn't seem right

Tru but if you can anticipate a line move on a play you know you're going to end up playing, why not? I played 1 unit on Hawaii+340, & it's since dropped along with the line...

I think OSU matches up pretty well with LSU. LSU no doubt has the talent edge, but i think their style of play on offense plays right into OSU's hands. I am concerned on how OSU will score though.... from the OSU games I watched, i noticed defenses played about 10-15 yards off the OSU receivers almost exclusively, all but surrendering the slant. LSU wont do that because they have the speed to play m2m.

Georgia game may be the most interesting game to me.... I think GA will do what they do well... run the ball and keep Hawaii's offense on the sidelines. Pretty sure GA will come to play after seeing what happened to Oklahoma last year. But they better take HAW seriously.

I think Vatech has the potential to ROLL Kansas... Kansas was overrated all year, imo, and Vatech is by far the toughest defense they will have played. Would have rather seen Vatech play WVA though.

I agree with whoever said Illinois not ready for this stage (Stif, i think). Great story this year with a great win @ OSU... but USC is hot right now... bad time to catch the Trojans imo. that being said, i will be rooting for illinois.

I also think Oklahoma is going to win convincingly, for two reasons: 1) They will be coached up big time after last years embarrassment and 2) WVA may come out flat after BLOWING their NC hopes.

Just my initial thoughts and i reserve the right to totally contradict myself in the coming weeks.
Good points Skins! I agree with most everything you said. I did hear though that UGA feels somewhat slighted over being passed up and they are complaining about the process yadayadayada. One thing we do know is that unhappy bowl teams make for good opponents. As for the NC game I think that OSU matches up well on the D side of the ball and not even close on the O side of the ball. OSU's only advantage is they played and SEC team last year with somewhat the same style as the Tigers, in that they run a lot of counter plays, misdirection and between the tackles to set up the pass and keep the D off balance, so maybe they kept the game film and can watch the game film of the UF game this year. I just cant see how the buckeyes are going to be able to hang for 4 quarters, so Flyers that bodes well for you:)being as it relates to CFB this year if you asked me where my ass was I would point to my elbow

:dunno:....where did i say it was 51 days to the game....lol.......what i said was it is between 30 and 51 days off for most teams. It was a huge factor for OSU last year.....sitting around...they lost all momentum and had to hear about how great they were for that whole time....

and it's 51 days for OSU.....they finished on NOV17th and they play on January 7th.......it was 51 DAYS off last year for OSU, as well....it's like 45 days for Michigan, Wisconsin...about 40 for Penn State.....It's only 37 for LSU......

Udog- what if Colt Brennan gets suspended....... .....and i think you missed my point. True about line moves, but what if suspensions come across and you don't want that play anymore. I have seen it Wayyyy too many times....but it mostly happens in the lesser bowl games.
