Possible BCS Bowl Match Ups

Yeah, i heard the same thing. LSU-Hawaii in the Sugar, ASU-Kansas in the Fiesta, OSU or Illinois vs. USC in the Rose, Ga.-VT/BC in the Orange.
I think Mizzou and West Virginia would be an absolute shootout. Mizzouri's weakness is the run, and West Virginia's weakness is the pass. The result is an over/under set at about 80. And I'll take the over.
I also like the LSU-Hawaii matchup for the simple reason it's Hawaii's chance to prove themselves. Imagine what would happen if they won at LSU. Boise's win over Oklahoma last year was big, but Hawaii's win would be bigger, and make the BCS an even bigger fraud than it already is.Comment

I guess the Rose might take Illinois based on tradition and loyalty (which would send Flyers into a feel good stupor of happiness and joy - even though he wants OSU there so he doesn't have to travel, haha), but how can you not want to see USC vs Georgia. It would be the best bowl game of all the bowls, IMO. They would take Illinois with the first overall pick, and their only pick??? Odd. Maybe Georgia wouldn't even want to go there, and playing Va Tech in Miami is a bigger deal to them cause it's easier on your fans. How could anyone not want to go the Rose Bowl though?
Very weird. I mean Illinois doesn't even qualify technically and they are changing rules for them.Last edited by CuseFan10; 11-27-2007, 07:59 PM.Comment

This is what i think we will see
Rose Bowl: USC (Pac 10) vs Georgia (Auto Qualifier, BCS Top 4)
Sugar Bowl: LSU (Southeastern) vs Kansas (At Large)
Orange Bowl: Boston College (Atlantic Coast) vs Hawaii (Auto Qualifier, Top 12)
Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma (Big 12) vs Arizona State (At Large)
NCG: Ohio State (BCS #2) vs West Virginia (BCS #1)
if i could make the match ups myself with these teams i'd go like this
Rose Bowl: USC (Pac 10) vs LSU (Southeastern)
Sugar Bowl: Georgia (Auto Qualifier, BCS Top 4) vs Oklahoma (Big 12)
Orange Bowl: Boston College (Atlantic Coast) vs Arizona State (At Large)
Fiesta Bowl: Kansas (At Large) vs Hawaii (Auto Qualifier, Top 12)
NCG: Ohio State (BCS #2) vs West Virginia (BCS #1)
I love these match ups and still keeps a sec team in sugar, pac ten in rosebowl, acc in orange, big 12 in fiesta, and forget the big ten in rose they have NCG this year so get over it... besides a usc lsu big game to watch....
i would have a merry new years if i could see this cardComment

Oh I know. Trust me, i had a couple fans from Hawaii whining about not being in the champioship race and i kept bringing up La. Tech and San Jose.
I will say this about Hawaii after watching them a lot this year......they've improved. Their defense got much better the final month of the season compared to earlier this year. If they played Nevada and Boise in Sept. they would have given up 40 or 50 and lost. I guess they got a new DC in there and it took them a while to adapt to the new system, but whatever he did, it worked. They played pretty good against Boise, shutting them down in the 4th.
I still don't think they'll beat LSU, but if the spread is below 17, i'll bet 'em.2011 NCAA Football ATS: 13-4-1
2011 NFL: 11-3-2

navy--can I take that bet and we can save the juice?
Hawaii is the epitome of why you can't allow these weak scheduling teams into the BCS--even if they do give LSU a game(and with Les Miles at the helm, that's EXTREMELY possible)--LSU has been going to war week in and week out with SEC heavyweights(6 teams in top 25 right now), while Hawaii was able to rest their QB for the powerhouse that is BoiseSt. There's a lot of attrition in the SEC--LSU is on their 3rd string DT at this point in the season.
As for the matchups, I think DevilsAdvokt has it pretty close. If Oklahoma beats Mizzou, Georgia will get USC in the Rose for the battle for next year's preseason #1. It will definitely be the best game of the year.
I love how Hawaii shuffled out to play the most uninteresting bowl in the Orange, but I thought the sugar picked last, which would leave Hawaii sitting right there like the fat kid at PE.Comment

The PICK ORDER is this if Missouri WINS:
1- Fiesta Bowl (for losing Mizz to the NCG)
2- Orange Bowl
3- Fiesta Bowl
4- Sugar Bowl
The PICK ORDER if Oklahoma WINS:
1- Rose Bowl (for losing Ohio State to the NCG)
2-Orange Bowl
3- Fiesta Bowl
4- Sugar Bowl
I guess now we know why Hawaii is going to the Sugar Bowl. This year they have the last pick now that they aren't losing LSU to the NCG.
So, if Missouri loses, the Fiesta Bowl is going to pick Kansas #1 overall??? This make little sense to me unless there affiliation to the Big 12 has something to do with this, but I thought all ties to conferences were non-binding after the "anchors" were divided up. The same applies to the Rose Bowl. They are going to pick Illinois 1st overall in the "draft" when Illinois doesn't even qualify except for a provision just made up this season??? Plus, why not take Georgia? You know damn well the Orange Bowl isn't taking Kansas with the #2 pick. They could then get Kansas, or hometown Arizona State, at #3 and have Georgia vs Kansas/Arizona State.
It seems to me these idiot bowl people are more worried about regional games (VT-BC vs Georgia and Kansas vs ASU) then they are about having the best possible match-ups for their respective bowls. I guess Kansas must've GUARANTEED the Fiesta Bowl that they can get plenty of people there somehow, plus ASU fans will pack it since it's local.Last edited by CuseFan10; 11-29-2007, 04:32 PM.Comment

Obviously they aren't part of the BCS games then and they would play in the Hawaii Bowl. I would guess that would pretty much guarantee Illinois a spot regardless of the outcome of the Big 12 Championship game.
Same applies to ASU, they lose to Arizona and they aren't going to a BCS Bowl either.Comment
