hey Nigel- X going to do anything this year?......
I think they could be very dangerous by February/March, which is when it means the most. Their OOC is pretty brutal, IMHO. They play Miami (OH), Creighton, UC (they aren't good...but its the rivalry thing), Indiana, Arizona State, Auburn, K State and Tennessee. I think they'll take their lumps with that schedule...but it should have them ready to go when A10 action starts. They should make the dance if things come together for them.

One thing I will say about Xavier...Miller is starting to bring in the next level of recruits to Xavier. Next season's class will be the highest ranked class X has ever gotten...and they are getting a lot of interest from some good recruits for the following year too.

I actually thought they might struggle tonight...but SEMO St. tried to full court press them...the way to beat X is to play good half court defense and pound the ball inside against them...they aren't very big. Full court pressing Drew Lavender is not how you beat X.

Were you surprised that Findlay beat OSU last weekend?

lol...i was more surprised ILL beat OSU today...........yes, anytime a D-1 school loses to a D-2 school it is a head scratcher. But you have to be honest about OSU's team. They return Butler, then just Terwilliger and Othello Hunter come back. Other than that it is all So/Fr who didn't see time last year or are obviously new as Fr. (lighty is the only exception as a So he did play last year), though, they have some great Fr that have come in. They have 4 Fr and 5 So on the roste. We'll see how good this 7 footer Koufous is when he gets going against some real competition. He has been great so far, but against Ashland and Findlay. Diebler was one of the top scorers in Ohio HS history, and basically it is a bunch of freshman this year, though, i don't think nearly as talented as last year's bunch. This team is an enigma at this point so i guess nothing surprises me.

I pull for X every year. Even have an "X" hoops shirt. I am glad they have kept that program going strong and that it continues to get better. Can't wait for that Skyline Chilli cross town showdown again this year.....always a great game to watch.

OSU's hoops team may be an enigma now...but I would be shocked if Matta doesn't have those guys playing their best basketball in February and March...seems to be his MO...and the MO of a very good coach.

Did anyone see that helmet to helmet on Locker in the Wash game? DAMN...that was nasty. If that was the NFL, that Beaver would be sitting a few games. Locker was out before he even hit the ground.

I may have to take a look at the Beavers in the 2nd half. I'm pretty sure the Huskies are stunned right now and more worried about the health of their QB than winning this game. Its got to be disheartening seeing your best player, especially your gifted QB, leaving the field on a stretcher with his head strapped down.

missed that hit....just turned the game on actually....that's too bad.....and to your point, the NFL came out today and told the refs to kick anyone out of the game who hits intentional helmet to helmet. helmet to helmet hits on purpose and driving people into the boards in hcokey face first are just 2 penalties that should be met with stiff fines and suspensions. no place for that **** in sports. you can play hard and be tough without trying to injure someon.

This Wash/Ore St. game is going to get ugly if the refs don't get control. Got to think that Ore St. and Under is the play in the second half. Wash can't do anything on offense.

I saw that hit for a second time and it looked intentional. Anyone know if the guy was kicked out?

                    Half line is:

Washington -1 or Or st. +1
                    O/U 23
                    Keep on Duhawkin'

I would tend to agree that the under is the play.... however they set it really low at 23! Juiced -125 @ 5Dimes. Screw that, maybe I'll get 2 lucky Washington tds & cover :beer2:

I'm thinking of a Fresno St 2ndh play.... Hawaii is always overvalued, & I bet the Bulldogs will get 6 or so. Maybe a small ml play, just because they've been going so well today...

Wow...Wash intercepts deep in OSU territory and goes 3 and out and gets a long field goal. I've got the feeling that if Wash is going to get any TD's its going to have to be special teams or defense. That offense is dreadful right now.

Pathetic indeed. I have to take a crack at Fresno St +7.5 2ndh. Hawaii's last 4 2ndh outcomes...

Hawaii by 17 vs. NMex st.

Hawaii by 7 @ SJ St.

Utah St by 3 over Hawaii

                              Idaho by 3 over Hawaii

1x in the last 4 games did Hawaii outscore their opponent 2ndh by more than 7. They also lost on the 2ndh ml 2 of 4.....

Well, looks like Wash is going to score an offensive TD. They might get back in this game if OSU keeps giving them the ball in their territory. 80 yards...don't see Wash O being able to handle that...30 yards....that is more like it.
