guys, that really wasnt the qb's fault... lets be honest... obviously he was not properly coached... this is an 18 yr old kid who wanted to be the hero... coach should have told him before the play that he should not do that ****

cal drove from their 5 yd line down to osu 9 yd line in less than a minute.... with 14 seconds, they run a play, but qb scambles and gets tackled... time expires.... cal loses by 3

didnt matter, they wouldnt be able to line up and clock the ball dude, all the receivers were in the endzone, and the clock doesnt stop

Let's just assume a few things:

1) The kid has played football before today.

2) He has ran a 2-minute drill in practice before.

3) His IQ is over 3.

4) He looked at the clock at some point before the play.

Now, with that said, I don't feel that a coach has to hold his players' collective hands throughout the game. If a player had held on the last play would it be Tedford's fault he didn't tell themm all "Don't hold" before the play? In that situation, you know to know a few things like, don't throw an INT, don't take a sack, we're in gimme field goal range and will likely win in OT.

I see no way how this goes on the coaches.

1) Yes, in high school. In front of 1,500 screaming fans.

2) We're talking about practice? practice?

3) He is on athletic scholarship in the California collegiate system. Highly doubtful.

It's ALWAYS the coaches responsibility to have your players prepared. There was a TIME-OUT on the field because of injury.... you probably should mention to your 18 year old QB a few of the nuances involved with 14 seconds left in field goal range when down by 3.
