YTD: 9-3
It's another 6-pack Saturday, my frieds, so here we go:
Kentucky +5.5 over Louisville --ouisville is No. 1 in total offense, but that defesne sucks:Louisville is an astounding No. 94allowing an average of 197.5 yards a game. Overall, the team is No. 86 in total defense. And they played two patsies so far. Kentucky is pssed off becuase L'ville wanted to boo them off the schedule. CoachBrooks is building this one up. “To make (the UK players) think it’s just another game is pretty silly,” he said. “Because it’s not. This is a huge game.”
UK can score with thes best of them. Gimme the points becuase UL could win outright.
Fresno St. +16.5 over Oregon -- I know. I know. No visitor does well at Autzen, Yet the Ducks won't stop flapping their beaks abaout how they beat up- Michigan at the Big House. It'ss hard getting up for the next opponent when you’ve already played your bowl game on Sept. 8. Fresno State always plays Oregon tough (4 losses by a TD or less) and has a history of beating established programs. Last week they played their guts out in hostile College Station, came back and forced a 3 OT game but lost to A&M on a missed 2-point conversion, 45-43. While the Ducks quack about Michigan, Fresno will perform very workmanlike under Pat Hill -- one of the best game daycoaches in the country. The points may be a bonus here.
Wyoming +12.5 over Boise St. -- Boise's bubble burst last week vs, Washington and that is a sign this team is not as talented as last year's. Wyoming’s defense played Boise State better than any other team last year — and the Cowboys defense is better this year. The Cowboys rank 10th in the nation in total defense (190 yards per game), 13th in pass defense (125) and 21st in rush defense (65). They also rank second in third-down conversions. Virginia was 3-for-13; Utah State was 0-for-13. Boise's Quarterback Taylor Tharp committed four turnovers — three interceptions and a fumble vs. Washington. A repeat performance will mean the outright win on the blue turf for the Cowboys.
The Ohio State -3 over Washington -- Washington QB Locker, as good as he has been versus Syracuse and Boise, hasn’t seen a defense like this one, especially across the second row. Ohio State boasts four players on each side of the ball worthy of preseason All-Big Ten attention. It has size and physical ability that the Huskies cannot match. Oh heah and then there is the coacing: Tressel versus Willingham. While Tressel was up all night game planning, Willingham , as he ended to do at ND, was playing 36 holes of golf. Tressel has more caching ability in his pinky. I would be shocked if The Ohio State does not burst Washington's bubble.
Wake Forest -19.5 over Army - -Wake might be the best 0-2 team in the country after hanging in but losing to BC & Nebraska. Now Army comes calling in a must win game for the Deacons. Army offers little in terms of serious offensive threats, ranking among the nation’s bottom 20 teams in scoring (14.0 points per game), rushing offense (52.0 yards per game) and total offense (259.0 yards per game). Plus, the Black Knights have some quarterback injury concerns. Wake's inside-out running game will set up its passing game and the Black Knights will not be able to handle either. A much needed home win rights the Deacons' season.
Western Michigan +20.5 over Missouri --It’s been a tale of two halves for Missouri this season. In two games, the Tigers have outscored their opponents 51–13 in the first half while being outscored 46–27 in the second and the Tigers' defense is allowing just under 500 yards per game. mQuarterback Tim Hiller leads the Broncos off a 10-point loss to Indiana. Hiller went 28-for-51 for 343 yards against the Hoosiers and must be licking his chops looking at game film of Mizzou. Plus, Mizzou is looking ahead to the start of the Big 12 season next week. As in the past 2 games, Mizzou will race out to a lead and WMU will come back to gain the nback door cover.
