How about EMU....the grab a 7 pt. half-time lead at 32-25 over Ball State and make that standup as they only score 19 second half points and beat BSU 51-48. Their first conference tourney win since 1998 when they were MAC Champs....congrats Eagles!

                          Thursday, March 8

No. 1 Toledo vs. No. 8 Eastern Michigan NOON
Opening line UT -9....currently at -9.5

UT has the best bracket of the tourney....EMU has played close games all year long but UT may make a statement here and the Eagles may be tired after yesterdays close one vs. Ball State.

                          No. 4 Miami vs. No. 5 Ohio U 4PM
                          Opening line -1 OU....now at -1 MU

Miami has been the most under rated team in the MAC this year....they're awesome at home and play close on the road except for a game at Kent. OU is the disappointment of the MAC this season, they're loaded with talent and Sonny Troutman has been underutilized.

No. 2 Akron vs. No. 7 Central Michigan (FSN Ohio 7 p.m.)
                          Opening line -13 UA.....now at -13.5

Zips are hot, the last time they toyed with the Chipps as 18 pt. Favs and failed to cover. CMU raced out to a dd (in the 20s) lead vs. Buffalo yesterday and won by 6. Maybe they shot themselves out yesterday. If the Zips want a rematch with Kent they must win today and would even risk losing an NCAA bid if they do.

No. 3 Kent State vs. No. 6 Western Michigan (FSN Ohio 9 p.m.)
Opening line Pick 'em....now at KSU -5.5

Kent mananged to stay in a game vs. Akron last week, got to OT and lost by 2 despite shooting horribly on the day, 18% in the first half, 52% from the FT.....Western handed Kent their worst beating of the year, made 12 3s, but Kent has turned the season around with great defense and great work in the paint despite playing very undersized.

                            Toledo 62 Eastern Michigan 54

                            March 8, 2007
                            CBS SportsLine.com wire reports

CLEVELAND -- Justin Ingram scored 14 points and forced six steals to help top-seeded Toledo advance to the Mid-American Conference Tournament semifinals with a 62-54 win over Eastern Michigan on Thursday. The Rockets' swarming defense came up with 17 steals and scored 28 points off Eastern Michigan's miscues.

Jonathan Amos was one of four Toledo players in double figures with 13 points and the high-energy sophomore added five steals. The Rockets (19-11), wearing a No. 3 patch in memory of center Haris Charalambous who collapsed during conditioning and died Oct. 9, are looking for their first title since the tournament's first year in 1980. They will play in Friday's semifinal.

Toledo trailed by seven early but started pressing and forced the Eagles into 21 turnovers, which had been a problem for them all season. Ingram's steal at midcourt and Keonta Howell's dunk topped a 9-0 run for a 24-15 lead early. Eastern Michigan called timeout and the Rockets jumped off their bench and ran to midcourt, Amos waving a towel and screaming.

Eastern Michigan (13-19) briefly regained the lead 36-35 on Justin Dobbins' dunk just after halftime, but the Rockets took control, continuing to frustrate the Eagles with their relentless pressure. Florentino Valencia scored six straight points underneath as Toledo regained the lead, then went on a 13-2 run to go up by 12. Valencia finished with 10 points. Dobbins, a 6-foot-8 freshman, led Eastern Michigan with 16 points and nine rebounds.

TIRED INDEED!!! AFTER THE BSU WIN.....

MIAMI, OH leads Ohio U at half time 39-21.....
The Redhawks have not backed down all year, and are the best team to challenge Toledo in the upper bracket. OU....a disappoint away from the Convo in Athens per usual!

                                MIAMI, OH 70 Ohio U 51

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Tim Pollitz scored 25 points and Miami of Ohio avenged years of frustration against rival Ohio in the Mid-American Conference tournament with a 70-51 win in the quarterfinals Thursday. The Bobcats knocked Miami out of the tourney in three of the last four seasons, including the semifinals in 2005 when the RedHawks were the top seed.

Pollitz was 11 for 14 with 10 rebounds and scored 14 in the first half as the RedHawks (16-14) opened up a 39-21 halftime lead. His scoring output tied a career high he set Jan. 27 in a loss at Toledo, which will be the RedHawks' opponent in the semifinals Friday. Nathan Peavy scored 14 for Miami and Alex Moosmann and Michael Bramos each added 12.

Leon Williams led Ohio with 22 points, three rebounds and two blocks. The Bobcats (19-13) misfired from 3-point range (2-for-16) and couldn't slow down the RedHawks, who shot 60 percent from the floor.
