I knew he would be on Duke. No way a guy like Lang could see any way for Butler to win/cover using his simple "what have you done for me lately" approach and after watching Duke dismantle WV Saturday night.
Hasn't duke covered every game so far in this tourney?
LOL .. thay have covered some small spreads during this tourney.. But , i have filled my pockets betting against them ATS this year. IMO , they dont cover 7 or 8 .
But BOL Dukies.........:sm:
P.S. I'm from UCONN land , so you can understand my dislike for Puke......:puke: And it has paid off nicely for me this year.
Lang always takes the favorite in the championship games. The favorite is usually the better team, or whos perceived to be the better team at least.
I dunno how u made so much money on fading Duke this year though. They have been DD covering machines for the most part. Usually covering 2/3 or 3/4 late in the season. The only games they didn't cover were the short line games like at Georgetown and at Maryland.
Regardless, I think I'm gonna roll with the Dog. I notice that favorites tend to cover the title game, but I'm rolling on a law of averages kinda thing with UNC covering easily last year. Only thing I don't like is taking 7 points with a public darling "Cinderella" team.
Is there a thread about the validity of Butler as a "Cinderella"? Butler is absolutely not a Cinderella in my mind. Any team that is ranked for the entire year, ended the year in the top 10, has a history of making and playing well in the tournament, and plays big name schools every year cannot be a Cinderella.
In my opinion the only teams that were legitly Cinderellas this year were Murray St, St. Marys, and MAYBE Northern Iowa. Northern Iowa would be a boarderline choice with them being ranked for a good part of the year.
A Cinderella to mean has to be at least a 10 seed or worse. A mid major won't get any higher than that, even if they win their conference tourney. Just my opinion though, but the media will hype Butler up all they can.
EDIT: I forgot the most important aspect of a Cinderella. The team has to come out of nowhere. It's a team that the majority of people don't even pick to get out of the first round. Preferably a team that no one knows.
Although if you follow CBB like we do, you would know that N. Iowa and St. Marys were covering machines all freakin year. St Marys covered like their first 15 games or some ****.
