    Bubble Teams

since Cusefan isn't around anymore to break down the field for us....:bang:....figured i would start something on it....

    A) Who has work left to do in the major conferences

    B) Who is perceived to be in by guys like Joe Lunardi....Bracket Tool etc..

    C) Who is on the outside that should be in

    D) Make a case for a small school if there are any (not Northern Iowa or Butler etc...)

    E) Whatever else you want to post in this thread

I will toss out a couple of things.

JoePa's 1970 National Guard Fighters I think are deserving of a look IF they can beat Akron @ Akron Saturday and then make the finals in the tournament in the MAC.

I also think that if Florida gets in it will be a testament to just how piss poor CBB has been this year and honestly the last couple of years. They are garbage. They have home losses to South Alabama and Richmond...they got DRILLED at home by the fighting Nigels and then they are 0-3 and soon to be 0-4 versus Vandy and Kentucky. They have ONE conference win over another team headed to the tournament (2 i guess if Mississippi State goes). They have one quality win out of their conference and that is @MSU who quite frankly has sucked donkey ass at home this year anyway. Lost 2 in a row down the stretch and 5 of 8. Not impressed with the Gators.

Craplini are another team that doesn't deserve a bid. When you go a combined 1-5 against the top 3 teams in your league and then end up with 6 of your 10 conference wins over IU, Iowa and Penn State.....not good. And not deserving. They have losses to Bradley and Utah...:dunno:..and Georgia too and that was before Georgia was playing the way they have the past 6 weeks. They also have been losing games by huge margins the past couple of weeks. They were a preseason top 15 team believe it or not. The pundits like Lunardi...Bracket Tool have them in still.

SIE......gaudy record but they have beaten NOBODY this year. Going to have to rely on the success from last year's tourney if they fall flat in the MAAC

I have these teams IN right now and don't think they can do anything short of losing to JoePa and the Dover's men's league Wednesday night 6'0 and under team to knock them out:

BIG10 (always deserves to be mentioned first)
THE OSU and your big10 champions.....:beerbang:
    Purdue, Wisky and MSU

    ACC
Duke, Clemson, Maryland (Vatech is another joker. their best win is Clemson at home)

    Big12
KU, KST, BAY, OKST, MIZZOU, TXAM, TEX

    BigEast (still sucks in football)
SYR, VIL, WVU, PIT, MARQ, LOU

    MWC
    BYU, UNM

    SEC
    UKY, VANDY, TEN, MISSST

PAC10 (this conference will get multiple bids and to think it won't is not correct)
    CAL, WASH/ASU or both

    A-10
    TEM, Fighting Nigels, RICH

C-USA (this is the hardest i think)
UTEP, UAB (no on memphis as they have beaten NOBODY)

    Others
    UNI, BUT, GON,

that is 36 teams plus 16 1 bid leagues. As i said, i really can't find anything close to 64 teams that are TRULY deserving based on where they sit as of 3-3-2010 which is a freeking week before the tournament.

    so omissions.

USU...beat BYU and has been very good this year. They have to get to the finals of their conference tourney and if they do lose that game they are going to have once nervous wait IMO but it's doable.

MEM......glory days...and i can't stand josh pastner...lol....no quality wins and a gaudy 11-3 record in a bad league. lost to UTEP at home. UAB is probably their best win. ZERO quality road wins.

anyhow, pick it apart agree with it whatever....

Seems like the teams that are on the bubble are weak

There could be some big surprises come next sunday in regards to at large teams

Do you feel UTEP deserves an at large bid if they don't win the tourney ?????

This year i would say yes ... Because the bubble teams are weak

I don't see GTWOWN up there FF !!!!!!

The bubble is a mess and the last 4-6 teams in this year typically wouldn't be in the conversation. There seems to be more teams this year that are strong at home and worthless on the road (I am looking at you Dayton) and I think the mediocre bubble will sort itself out with teams that get to the semi's and finals of their conference tourney's getting the last couple of bids while teams that get upset in the first round playing themselves out. Teams like Florida, Miss St, UConn, ND, Illinois, URI, Dayton, VT, FSU, GT, WF, UAB, all fall into that category. Personally I would be shocked if any team other than Cal gets an atlarge from the Pac 10 although I think a first round L in the Pac 10 could be enough damage to Cal (a team without any real wins). It will be interesting to see how the committee judges teams like Cal that don't have road wins or big wins vs teams like GT who have good wins at home and nothing at road/neutral vs teams like Richmond, Florida and Dayton who have non-conference road/neutral wins. It will be interesting.

            BUMP

The bubble is a mess i agree

Everyday things change. ACC only deserves 3 IMO .

I think Mountain West and A10 gets 3 apiece

and if somebody other than UNLV,NMEX,BYU wins MWEST TOURNY maybe four
same with the A10 - if somebody like Dayton wins that tourney you could see four

I think UNLV will get in

              You could possibly see

a total of 8 teams from the mountain west and a-10 combined
              and
              only
six combined from Pac 10 and ACC

              possibly ...

i agree with everything you say , except i feel CAL is in . no matter what .

regular season champs in the league . But i agree that this year THAT IS NOT REALLY IMPRESSIVE and in a way not enough ...

UCONN is Dunn like Adam Dunn.

CAL has an RPI of 21. They are in even if Joepa's 40+ Men's Dover 5'5" and under team beats them.

HUGE game tomorrow with the Fighting Franchises playing at the Spiders or Richmond. Both teams could use that win but much more so for DAY IMO.

CBB is shiat these days and the quality of play and consistency of play among top teams is just not there. I don't want to hear any crying from anyone that they were left out as all these teams had plenty of chances and blew them for the most part.

SDSU will have to win the tourney. They have ZERO impressive out of conference wins and went 2-4 against the other top teams in the MWC getting swept by BYU. They also lost to ASU in non conference.

And i will say it again. The Pac10 will get at least 2 and maybe 3 teams because of how bad the bubble is. I will be back to eat crow or say i told you so in about a week....but don't count on me munching any crow on this one....

I think PIT is on the outside looking in (lmao...just kidding W2)
