In their first meeting in Cullowhee the Catamounts were 16pt favs and struggled and fell behind big early. The managed to win by 10 and UNCG's athleticism was almost too much for WCU to handle at times, but then the Spartans got into second half foul trouble.
In looking are recent form of both teams they have lost 3 in a row! WCU lost 2 of those at home while two of UNCG's losses were roadies. Now by comparison vs. the same teams in their last 5 recent games:
WCU Lost @ Elon by 18
UNCG beat Elon by 7
WCU Lost to Appy State by 12
UNCG Lost to Appy State by 6
WCU Won @ Samford by 12
UNCG Lost to Samford by 3
Just my 2 cents and there are certain match ups where certain teams play great against certain teams and not against others. I feel this is one of those match ups. Some people don't put alot of stock into the numbers at the top, but look what happen to Kent with similar numbers playing at Buffalo!
