    Sunday Discussion

Saturday worked out well.....anyone have any thoughts on Sunday.....

    some surprising numbers IMO

    SHALL -3 over P-I-double T
    IU -6 1/2 over IOWA
    LOU -9 over CIN

i guess i figured the PIT number to be closer to PK to -1......IU, how in the world are they favored by 6 1/2 over anyone?? I mean they are getting better and i know they just won at Penn****, but really? A 6 1/2 point favorite. IOWA went to MSU earlier in the week and played well and lost by 7.

And i'm not seeing a LOU DD win over UC but maybe i am missing something.

On first glance, i really like IOWA 1H tomorrow as i expect IU to be a little punch drunk of the road win and seriously....are these teams that much different? They both look like Ollie from Hoosiers x 5.

    P-I-double T i am leaving alone i guess.

FSU/GTECH is a coin flip IMO unless somebody as a good opinion on a side.

I look for UNI to get back to business but not sure about the -6. They started 11-1 last year in the MVC and lost 4 in a row after their first loss.

UWM/CLEST 132........interesting total as CLEST has only gone over this number 1 time in conference and UWM is 2-10 to the UNDER L12, but the 2 teams have gone OVER in their L4 meetings.

Interesting game between SWMST (i still call them that and refuse to switch...lol) and CREI.

SWMST coming off 3 of L4 on the road in conference and losses have all been by DD. CREI meanwhile is 3-1 in conference at home (lost to UNI by 8), but all 3 wins were ONLY by a combined 7 points (wichywoman, sill and drake). Something has to give here.

Also still a bit perplexed by the PITT line at +3 for PIT. SHALL has beaten Louisville and UC at home by 3 and 7 (neither of which is as good as PITT IMO), but also has home conference losses to Syracuse and WVU by 6 and 7 points. PITT has road wins over Syracuse, UC and UCONN. PITT also off of the G'Town loss but still atop the conference standings.

W2- you have anything on this? Anybody have any insight into the line being where it is. As i said, i expected a game around PK to -1. I don't think these teams are even on a neutral floor which is what the line is basically suggesting.

Might take a shot with the Over138 1/2 in the SWMST/CREI game...

SWMST has been just woeful on defense on the road in conference coughing up 88, 84 and 78 points in their 3 road games. CREI can score and their scores at home pretty much mirror who they are playing. 140 and 142 versus SIllinois and Drake but then 112 and 113 versus UNI and Wichy Woman who are 2 of the stingier teams on D in the conference. I would look for some points in this one the way I am seeing it. CREI gave up 69 to both SIllinois and Drake and SWMST can score the basketball. I would expect this one to cross into the 150's with a game somewhere in the 79-72 type range. If both teams aren't in the 70's i would be shocked. Very solid play IMO and I am going to most likely lock it in here in a minute.

also going to run with the INDST TT Under 56 1/2..............anyone who has watched UNI knows they just play stifling defense and have a 7 footer in the middle as well. They have allowed in conference road games 52 (creighton) 49 (SIllinois) 44 (IllinoisSt) and 60 most recently at Wichy Woman. They take all the air out of the ball on the road. These 2 teams met a week ago and UNI dismantled them 62-40 at UNI. Im trying to figure out how INDST is 17 points better than that in 7 days time.......INDST does score the ball at home but i really look for UNI to get back to business today and I would be really surprised if INDST gets into the high 50's or above....another probably play for me when the TT come out in the AM.

I like the creighton over as well FF, wish i would have played opener @ 134.5. Still like them to get into the 70's . Not sure Creighton wins this game, leaning doggie.

That Cincy line opened higher than I think anyone would predict. Would normally be a caution flag for me when considering the dog, but after WKy, Az st who knows. Cincy has only lost by more than 7 one time this season (17 pt loss @UAB), and even though they are 1-4 on road they have played ok. They have had 4pt ot loss @X, 3 pt loss vs Pitt, 7pt loss @Hall, 2 pt loss @SJ where they went 0-12 3 pters. Cincy responded nicely back home with wins over nd & SJU. Louisville has only one win this season by less than dd, a 7 pt win vs Joes. Louisville in a must win, coming off b2b close road losses I don't think they mess around here. After today they are @WV then back home to play Uconn. Biggest thing is whether or not Cincy handles the press well, because they are young.

i can go either way on most of these games, especially the big matchups.

            couple im considering

Indiana St catching 6.5 at home is tempting. they are coming off a great effort at swmst, putting up 60 points in the 2nd half to erase a 20 point deficit and send game to OT. thats alot of points for no iowa to cover on the road.

also, i played the under at this same exact number (134.5) in the first meeting between fsu-gtech and it went under despite overtime. i cant see it being too much different this time and they could get off to sluggish starts since its noon game

              I bought a half and grabbed Pitt @ +3.5 .. I think that's solid ..

THis game will be close for sure. I got a good look at Seton Hall and they are out of control. Its chaos. I feel Pitt's bigs BROWN,MCGEE, and GILBERT BROWN are just as good if not better than any of the bigs for SHALL on the offensive end. Pope is a good rebounder, but he's a horrible FT shooter and isn't polished on the offensive end.

Pitt has a few options to throw at Hazell - Dixon, Wanamer, Brown if you want somebody a little taller. And don't be surprised to see Pitt go into a zone a little bit .. THey have been playing some zone when certain people are on the floor.

I think Pitt will bounce back from the GTOWN loss. If it wasn't for a 7-0 run at about the five minute mark against the HOYAS , Pitt would probably still be undefeated in the league.

Gibbs was also 3-16 from the floor against GTOWN. I don't see that happening again ..

The oddsmakers are not respecting pitt yet

                that's for sure ..

                evidence :
                Pk vs Lou at home
-1 vs Gtown at home as the ninth ranked team in the country
and now SHall +3 at their place ..
