I do think its somewhat silly about the messiah complex bestowed on Obama. Its a curse to expect him (he's not the sole answer btw) to fix the WORLD's problem, but its good to see somewhat of a positive response, maybe there will be a concerted effort among everyone to fix things.
and like your quote Bo, but I personally see no relevance to it. Khrushchev was seen as a nut by his own party, and ousted, not much credibility there. This is not the first time in American history people are going through a "red scare". Anywhere from the 1920s to the New Deal during FDR's administration even the 2nd New Deal, fears of socialism were and always will be rampant.
If anything the main thing that should bolster these fears is a Democratic dominant Congress in conjunction with Obama's administration. I honestly did not see that coming, I thought that the Republicans would regain some control of the Houses.
IMO and many others we're better off with balance, obvious but true I believe. Obama was the chalk to win the presidency, but I'd have preferred a Republican Congress as opposed to what resulted.
