One last thought before the election

I have come and gone in this political forum and pretty much said my peace. But i want to say one last thing. And i debated saying this but i just think it is that important.....

I was sitting in my office setting up some bills to be paid and i wrote out my annual check for the toy drive for Kevin. Really made me smile writing that check. I had a fortunate year in business and was able to kick down a little more this year. I thought how great to have the choice to give something back to people as i would never be where i am today without help from others like my parents putting me through college, my dad helping me start the business i now have. And how great it felt to be able to kick down more this year than last year, especiall in tough times. I know it's not the size of the contribution it's the thought, but in reality the more you can give the more you can help.

But then i had a really bad thought and i really hope you take this to heart because it's the truth. I thought what about Obama and his redistribution of wealth. I am going to take a big hit under Obama as will EVERYONE and that is what you need to understand. I have a choice where i donate my money to and who gets my charity. I think it's important in life to help others who want to help themselves. But Obama is going to take my money and give it to people who want to get fat on the government. And folks, if you've never started a business or owned your own company....lived off savings when times were tough early on......every customer who may not pay you comes out of your pocket...if you've never lived that then you will never understand what a business owner goes through.

And the point in this is that I have EARNED the right to be successful and through hard work. I have EARNED the right to lease the car i just leased. I put in the EFFORT to get where i am today. Under Obama and his socialist redistribution of wealth plan, he will take from me and others and give to those who don't deserve it. So guess what.....next Xmas that check for the toy drive may not be so big......that bonus may not be coming to an employee........those health benefits may go bye bye....because all the money i have for that has been taken to give to those who don't deserve it.

Folks, this isn't about the rich vs. the poor....it's about all of us in the middle. It's about plumbers, teachers, small business owners etc.....banding together to fight off monies to those who sit on front stooops of liquor stores in Oakland "kicking" it all day on the government's (ultimately my) dime....it's about 21 year old chenqua and her 9 kids who is "a victim of society" and living on the government.........you just can't have socialism....and as a person, business owner etc... i only have so much money to give and if the government takes it....guess what, the rest is mine. And i have EARNED that right.

Please don't elect a socialist leader who thinks success is evil. In the end, we're all going to pay for it in ways you've never thought of. I honestly hope that next Xmas i can write another nice check for the toy drive....pay huge commissions to people who sell for me etc.....but that is all up to how america votes.

And if you don't think a tax increase is coming across the board, you don't understand finance. Because there is no way you can do what Obama wants to do and not have one. He is all talk and it's really scary to think of the future.

Great Post. No matter which of your countrymen on this site agree or disagree...your point is made with conviction and intelligence. Amazing...you didn't need to call someone a dummy, or young, you didn't need to post a photoshop of someone in a turban, and you didn't need to copy and paste someone else's opinion from the internet (where we KNOW everything is automatically true) to attempt to convey your own opinion.

Ditto the last 2 posts! I'm sure it will be the only post with such such conviction and truth!

FF, I personally think you are overstating some facts but I respect your post! I respect that you have these concerns and state them in a respectful manner! I hope you are proven wrong (for all of us) because what you speak of would be detrimental to our country as a whole!

I haven't voted yet. I am going to vote Monday. It's the first time I haven't had a clear choice in a long time. Everything you fear about Obama affects me directly because I am a small business owner! What stops me from marching in with Mccain is the fact that I don't feel he comes to the table with any kind of relevant solution! He is just a mirror image of what we have suffered thru for the last 8 years IMO! It's gonna be a long weekend of soul searching that's for sure!

Either way, I wish you and everyone good luck in the next four years!

Great Post! This last statement is as true as the sky is blue!It is impossible to fund the social agenda of the democratic party w/out an across the board tax increase. This is why it has gone from those making $250,000 to $200k, and now with Biden saying $150k and this number will most likely change as well. It all sounds nice when you just say only those making $250k will be hit, but the reason that song has changed is when you look at the bottom line of the democratic agenda you realize this is not feasible with the amount of national debt we currently have. This was great rhetoric when you are trying to win an election, but reality is much different. Obama has come out and Changed his tune because he knows that what he was promising would make him look like a liar to those he is making the promises too. The best thing about this great country we live in is it is up to us the citizens to make change, and we can do that by the power of the vote and by action. You can vote for whomever you like even if it is a person that has very little experience, with a radical left wing agenda that has formed his moral compass by leaning on people Wright, home grown terrorist and the PLO. What you need to understand is that with every election there will be consequences of that Vote. For instance in the last election Bush won, now he has been far from great but can you imagine the alternative...with Kerry and Edwards....you think we are in the **** now if they would have won it would not be knee deep but head deep being their platform was the immediate withdrawl from Iraq. Imagine the consequences of that decision.....catastrophic.....It is things like this you need to think about when you vote..what will be the consequences of your Presidents agenda should his agenda be pushed through the system to become reality. I dont agree that voting for McCain will be more of the same, though many fundamentals of how he governs will be. Hopefully the country is more moderate and votes for the person that is more towards the middle as our country does not need someone that is far to the right or to the left as that is bad for everyone except those that lie in those extremes. Change is good and our country needs to change and grow and move in a different direction but one needs to look very close how that change will affect you and your interest and what will actually change and how it will change for the better or the worse with a particular canidate. Balance is good thing!:beerbang:
