Governor Sarah Palin had no public events today because the McCain campaign says that she is hard at work crafting her convention speech. But, she did have a private meeting with Cindy McCain and Laura Bush in Minneapolis.

Palin spokesperson Maria Comella said the meeting was “an opportunity for the three of them to sit down and talk about the convention and a variety of other issues.”

No staffers were at the meeting (besides the photographer who took the picture below), so no information on what those other issues may be.

since i know nothing and am dumb i guess ill just post this

as the pieces ive bolded you can see hes sponsored legislation in a bi-partisan fashion and also has sponsored legislation for our veterans even though he some how doesn't put "country first" and hates this country and remember if your not country first and republican you hate this country and should just leave the country, not too shabby though in one congress Obama manages to sponsor 152 bills.

In the 109th Congress alone Senator Obama sponsored 152 bills.

In the 110th Congress, some ones you might remember:

      Global Poverty Act (S.2433)
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senators Barack Obama (D-IL), Chuck Hagel (R-NE), and Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Congressman Adam Smith (D-WA) today hailed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee's passage of the Global Poverty Act (S.2433), which requires the President to develop and implement a comprehensive policy to cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015 through aid, trade, debt relief, and coordination with the international community, businesses and NGOs. This legislation was introduced in December. Smith and Congressman Spencer Bachus (R-AL) sponsored the House version of the bill (H.R. 1302), which passed the House last September.

Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act (S. 230)
The final bill that the Congress passed closely mirrored and drew key provisions in a bill (S. 230) that Senators Obama and Feingold introduced in January 2007 to establish a "gold standard" for reform. Among the provisions in the Obama-Feingold bill that were adopted by the Senate and the House were: strict bans on receiving gifts and meals from lobbyists; new rules to slow the revolving door between public and private sector service; and an end to the subsidized use of corporate jets.

Lugar-Obama Nonproliferation Legislation Signed into Law by the President WASHINGTON – President Bush today signed the Lugar-Obama proliferation and threat reduction initiative into law.
Authored by U.S. Sens. Dick Lugar (R-IN) and Barack Obama (D-IL), the Lugar-Obama initiative expands U.S. cooperation to destroy conventional weapons. It also expands the State Department's ability to detect and interdict weapons and materials of mass destruction.
"The United States should do more to eliminate conventional weapons stockpiles and assist other nations in detecting and interdicting weapons of mass destruction. We believe that these functions are underfunded, fragmented and in need of high-level support," said Lugar, Republican leader of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

S.117 - Sponsor: Sen Obama, Barack [IL]
A bill to amend titles 10 and 38, United States Code, to improve benefits and services for members of the Armed Forces, veterans of the Global War on Terrorism, and other veterans, to require reports on the effects of the Global War on Terrorism, and for other purposes.

S.692 - Sponsor: Sen Obama, Barack [IL]
A bill to amend title 38, United States Code, to establish a Hospital Quality Report Card Initiative to report on health care quality in Veterans Affairs hospitals.

S.713 - Sponsor: Sen Obama, Barack [IL]
A bill to ensure dignity in care for members of the Armed Forces recovering from injuries.

S.1084 - Sponsor: Sen Obama, Barack [IL]
A bill to provide housing assistance for very low-income veterans.

S.1271 - Sponsor: Sen Obama, Barack [IL]
A bill to provide for a comprehensive national research effort on the physical and mental health and other readjustment needs of the members of the Armed Forces and veterans who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom and their families.

April 2006: McCain was one of only 13 Senators to vote against $430,000,000 for the Department of Veteran Affairs for Medical Services for outpatient care and treatment for veterans.

ICYMI: Mayor Rudy Giuliani On CBS' "Early Show"

"Barack Obama has never governed a city, never governed a state, never governed an agency, never run a military unit, never run anything. Sarah Palin has been a mayor. She's been a governor. She has a record of reform. She has a record of leadership. She's run a budget." -- Mayor Rudy Giuliani

        Mayor Rudy Giuliani
        CBS' "Early Show"
        September 3, 2008

Mayor Rudy Giuliani: "Barack Obama has never governed a city, never governed a state, never governed an agency, never run a military unit, never run anything. Sarah Palin has been a mayor. She's been a governor. She has a record of reform. She has a record of leadership. She's run a budget. So, why are all these questions for her? Has anybody ever asked Barack Obama, can you bring up your two kids and be president of the United States? They are asking 'can she be vice president and be a mother?' Come on."

CBS' Maggie Rodriguez: "So you're saying you have no doubt and mothers shouldn't either, that she can do it?

Mayor Giuliani: "Where are the feminists? I mean is it just the early feminist groups? Where are they?"

Rodriguez: "I think they are fair questions. It's a lot to judge."

Mayor Giuliani: "They are questions. I don't know if they're fair questions. You can ask any question you want, then to designate it as a fair question. You know, can you be a mother and be a vice president? We've had a lot of fathers run for president and no one has ever asked them, 'can you be a father and be president?' Don't tell me there isn't a difference there."

Finally, McCain wants to eliminate what he sees as the most troubling aspects of legalized gambling in the United States. He has led the fight to ban gambling on college sports, a battle the Nevada casinos have won (so far), in part by suggesting that he would make Super Bowl and NCAA pools illegal. (He wouldn't, since they are zero-sum games, not for-profit enterprises.) And McCain would ban Internet gambling -- not because it's addictive, but because players typically have no way of knowing whether they are in fair games.
