College Basketball is SO DIFFERENT than Football, FF.

I will give you an example....

Take a crap team and add a superstar... and instantly they are a threat.

I will give you the two instances that come to mind. Each school sucked before the guy showed up and has sucked since....

Indiana State with Larry Bird and
Navy with David Robinson

Cleveland State and Richmond had their runs too.

There are 65 teams in this thing ONLY because of all the crappy conferences. Not too long ago it was a 32 team and 48 team event. It rewards really good teams (top 12) who essentially start playing at round 2.....

Except for the Bad-gers who look like hell right now.

No they aren't!!!!!!!! that is my point.......do this for me W2- find me a team from any of these conferences in the past 20 years that has made the sweet 16.................MEAC, SWAC, BigSky, BigWest, MAAC, NEAC, American East, SoConn, OVC.....the total is like 3 or 4 tops...and NONE have a chance of winning the tourney. They should have their own 1-AA tourney and crown a champion of schools that are similar. You can take the cream of the crop from those conferences and keep them in 1-A, and send the rest packing. They can still play 1-A teams in the reguar season, but not in the tourney. I mean, by your argument, every kid should get to play 5 minutes a half for each team, as well. Heck, i'll bring the orange slices and gatorade. This tournament should be about crowning the best team in 1-A, not a field trip for some ****ball school like Jackson State to get their ass handed to them by FLA by 30 points.

I understand your point, but you want to totally eliminate "any" opportunity that they have of proving themselves. Teams like Long Beach , Corpus Christi would never have an oppurtunity to prove themselves with the BIG BOYS .. That's all I'm saying ..

BB- those were solar eclipse like exceptions. And i am not advocating more ****ty D-1 teams to fill their spots. But really, did we have to waste OSU's time yesterday with a game vs. CCONN that was over after 3 minutes? Is there really a point to playing that game? I think there is a monumental talent gap between the conferences i listed and the ones i didn't. And none of the teams you mentioned were from any of those conferences. Notice i didn't include the Horizon, or the A-10.

but just my opinion.......

This is the exact reason why I had Wisky being bounced by UNLV. Because the team cannot score points.

Also the reason why Va Tech will roll tonight, because Illinois cant score points.

Another analogy to this might be.....

why not kick Indiana and NW and Minny and etc out of the Big Ten football conference? Outside of a couple years NW has been awful and IU and Minny have not won it in 50 years.

Reason....I just said it. NW DID win it a couple of times.

Purdue has an awesome basketball history...,yet they have not been to the Final Four in 26 years and have NEVER won the dang thing.

One of these years a 16 seed will win......and most likely will lose in the 2nd round.

yeah someone here thought I was crazy putting GT over Wisconsin.. just picked the wrong team in the other matchup.. I agree and I think IL will have great problems tonight if they cannot score..

I am pretty sure Richmond was in the Colonial at that time. And I think Cle State was in the Mid Continent at that time.
