Syracuse and the ****ty committee

Cuse, I dont think I said its okay for Duke to schedule those and Syracuse not too, but what I mean is Duke added two power teams from other conferences that include Indiana and G-Town.

If Syracuse can do that, and win those games then they get into the tournament.

Remember Cuse, it was Duke that won those and and Syracuse that lost them. I love how Syracuse and Duke schedules these teams, but IMO Syracuse should schedule a top ACC or Big 10 school each year. Im sure they wont have a problem getting them.

Fair point. Syracuse did play Oklahoma State so that evens out your Indiana argument (which Duke only plays because of the ACC/Big 10 Tourney for TV) so you are really talking about one game. I do agree Boeheim needs to schedule at least one top tier game though. They had a home and home with Kentucky that I don't know why they stopped a couple years back.

They should start a Big East/SEC Showdown to match the Big 10/Acc and newly contracted Pac 10/Big 12.

Not to go piss in your cereal, but I stated last week that I thought the Big East was overrated....not hugely overrated but still overrated.

I do think, however, that Syracuse probably deserved to be in especially ahead of Arkansas. I will say however that their out of conference schedule is embarrassing and it did not help that they lost to Drexel and Wich State and Okie State all at home. No games outside of the state of NY until January.

Ok I Have Finally Found It

That's fine BB, but I think 'embarrassing' is a bit strong. As I listed above, they played plenty of good mid major teams, and needed 1 more major team (and if Okie State and Wichita State didn't inexplicably collapse, their non-conference SOS would have been well below 100, for the record). There are plenty more 'embarassing' non-conference schedules, and here they are:

As you can see, they played a better non-conference schedule than 11 of the 34 at-large selections and played in the conference with the most ranked teams (5 in the Top 20, no one else has more than 3 in the Top 25).

You can tell me that they don't leave the state of NY, that's fine. But you can't tell me that their schedule is so much of an embarrassment that that is the reason they didn't get in, because that's simply not true. Again, it inexplicable that Illinois or Arkansas made this tournament (but I guess when there are no Big East representatives on the committee and there are 5 Big 10 representatives we see what happens? Put in the teams that butter your bread...)

Bull**** I tell ya...

And lastly, Illinois played 3 good non-conference games (Arizona, Xavier, and Maryland) and lost all 3 games.
