Yea, sorry guys. I accidentally deleted the sign up thread that had all the rules in it. I should get a chance to re-write them sometime tonight....hopefully soon.

H - nothing with the play in game.

As far as the lines, yes, I'm going to use what I have for opening lines at BetCris. One thing I am going to do however, is add a hook to any line that doesn't have one (for example -8 would become -8.5), just to eliminate pushes. If the line remained relatively constant, I'm just going to add the hook. If the line opened at like -8 though, and has dropped to -7 already or something, obviously i'm gonna go with -7.5 though, not -8.5. That would be rediculous IMO to make people lay -8.5 (or get +8.5) when that's not even close to the real line, and not only that, it would be an advantage for dog players, and we don't want that. I'm trying to be as fair as possible to everyone.

Pushes could be a real potential headahce in grading, and they don't do anyone any good anyway.

I WAS going to post the lines last night, until I realized there is no line for Kansas vs #64/#65 winner yet (obviously)....but as soon as that game is over and they release a line on Kansas vs whoever advances, the lines will be up. I WOULD put them up now anyway and just edit that one in, BUT you guys know how it'll go....people will post their plays for the other 31 games, then want to edit that one in, and end up changing others too....or they'll post the Kansas game separate and then I'll have to go looking all over creation to get everyone's plays.

I WOULD post the first 31 lines and lock the thread, but for some reason I can't seem to lock a thread here in the NCAA Hoops forum....nor can I post a sticky for some reason :bang:

      Stiff

great idea on the hook, we don't really need any pushes (if it can be avoided). your posting of the lines will be a great help, that way all are on the same page. I am assuming that once the lines are posted, there is to be no movement and it will be what it is. Again, thanks Stiff.

Yes, once the lines are posted, they are what they are. No movements will be considered or used.

Jerbeek actually suggested that I "make up" a line for the Kansas game, just for contest purposes, and use that. It shouldn't matter anyway since we'll all be using the same line, weather it's a good one, a bad one, or in between.

That way I could put up the lines later tonight, and it would give everyone more of a chance to post, if they'll be out of town later in the week, if their internet goes out (lol), or whatever....

I am leaning towards doing that, and if i decide to definitely do it, i will "make up" a line for Kansas vs #64/#65 and post the lines a little later.

I see my name along with yomonte's on the same line? How does that work?

great job on putting this together.

i had a hard time reading the brackets so i thought i'd make it a little easier to read. i also deleted the seedings so people won't get confused. my falut if i mis-spelled your name. i'll also volunteer to update this after every round if someone lets me know the winners. and… i hope i didn't step on anyone toes by doing this. -- tactics

Thurs and Fri are round 1 - all 32 games

Sat and Sun are round 2 - all 16 games

Then the sweet 16 is round 3 - all 8 games

                    Elite 8 is round 4 - all 3 games

Final four is round 5 - both games

Championship game is round 6, and championship round for us as well

Hope that clears things up :glass:

Thanks everyone. I sure hope everyone does have fun with this contest!!

GM03 - I WAS going to do it the way you wrote, and I actually liked the idea....but I decided it would be really hard for grading to have to sit up every night till 1am or whenever the games get over here on the east coast, THEN have to grade them to see who moves on, AND get the lines up for the next day.

At least this way I only have to do it twice, this Friday night for Saturday.....and then again the next Friday, since there will be no grading yet after Thurs night, and after Sun night, it's not urgent to get anything done right away.

I'm not sure how itll work for the finals.. cause like what if you both pick the same side and you dont really want the winner to be determined off a final score.Maybe throw in like the Finals for the NIT in there also or something?

Thats why I thought round 1 would be Thursday, round 2 would be Friday and so on. That is going to get pretty tough when the final four teams are in it. I dont think totals should be taken into the equation because a lot of us dont even cap those. Just my opinion.
