UFC 180, November 15th, Mexico City, Mexico
Fight Card
------------------------------------------------------------
Mark Hunt vs. Fabricio Werdum
Jake Ellenberger vs. Kelvin Gastelum
Dennis Bermudez vs. Ricardo Lamas
Chris Heatherly vs. Augusto Montano
Edgar Garcia vs. Hector Urbina
Leonardo Morales vs. Yair Rodriguez
Alejandro Perez vs. Jose Quinonez
Jessica Eye vs. Leslie Smith
Gabriel Benitez vs. Humberto Brown
Henry Briones vs. Guido Cannetti
Marco Beltran vs. Marlon Vera
Masio Fullen vs. Alexander Torres
Fredy Serrano vs. Bentley Syler
I love Mark Hunt, and obviously we can see how he does vs strikers, but I think this is Werdum's fight to lose. Hunt can get caught by submission. Werdum's striking has been on display since the Fedor fight and he's really impressive. If you watch the UFC embedded videos, it looks like Werdum is in great shape. I like Hunt, and hope he wins, but I only see one way to win... Ellenberger's fallen off the face of the 170 title race, but this is a great fight for Kelvin Gastelum! Kelvin does what he needs to, to win, has good striking, great wrestling, but same can be said for Jake. He's over with Edmund Tarvarian (sp?) now, and should see his striking improve. Bermudez/Lamas should be another ultra-competitive fight that pits two athletes versus each other and I'm excited to see how this one plays out. I believe Bermudez takes it here with his constant pressure and now allowing Lamas to stay at range.
Dennis Bermudez -180 over Ricardo Lamas for one unit
Jose Quinonez -240 over Alejandro Perez for two units
Probably some more plays tonight.
