UFC 170: Rousey vs McMann Picks and Predictions!!!

UFC 170: Rousey vs. McMann, February 22nd, Las Vegas, Nevada

    Fight Card
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    Ronda Rousey vs. Sara McMann
    Daniel Cormier vs. Patrick Cummins
    Rory MacDonald vs. Demian Maia
    Mike Pyle vs. T.J. Waldburger
    Stephen Thompson vs. Robert Whittaker
    Alexis Davis vs. Jessica Eye
    Raphael Assuncao vs. Pedro Munhoz
    Cody Gibson vs. Aljamain Sterling
    Zach Makovsky vs. Josh Sampo
    Erik Koch vs. Rafaello Oliveira
    Ernest Chavez vs. Yosdenis Cedeno

Interested in Koch's rebound performance vs an over-matched Oliveira. Samp vs Makovsky pits two up-and-comers vs each other in the flyweight division. Does old-school Alexis Davis have the talent to feign Eye's strikes? Thompson vs Whittaker looks to be a technical boxer's dream. Pyle suggests though old, he has what it takes vs the aussie. Maia will shut up Rory MacDonald. Cormier will hurt Cummins after being called out. Rousey will face her toughest test of her career, but will show she is indeed the best and prepared for Cris Cyborg.

Had a positive night. Could have been much better though.

Makovsky was better in all facets of the game and dominated Sampo.

I had Jessica Eye 29-28 in the fight, and so did Sherdog and MMAJunkie. Unfortunately for us, two judges had it differently. :(

Damian Maia almost shocked and hit a big underdog. I really think Rory isn't that special and is being coddled by the UFC. He's talented as heck, and I think if he loses the attitude, he'll be a champion. I just don't like him. Regardless, after getting through the possibly 10-8 round in the first, he picked Maia apart.

Makovsky took care of the first leg of the parlay, Cormier pretty much did what everyone thought he would to Cummins, and regardless of what you think of the Ronda stoppage - a win is a win. That knee was brutal and so it goes.

            2-2, +1 unit
