UFC FIGHT NIGHT 29, October 9th, Barueri, Sao Paulo, Brazil
Fight Card
----------------------------------------------------------
Demian Maia vs. Jake Shields
Dong Hyun Kim vs. Erick Silva
Matt Hamill vs. Thiago Silva
Joey Beltran vs. Fabio Maldonado
Rousimar Palhares vs. Mike Pierce
Raphael Assuncao vs. T.J. Dillashaw
Igor Araujo vs. Ildemar Alcantara
Yan Cabral vs. David Mitchell
Chris Cariaso vs. Iliarde Santos
Alan Patrick vs. Garett Whiteley
Late in posting as I just got from the gym. Really interested in Araujo/Alcantara as Araujo is a TUF alum I really enjoyed watching. Got some nice game, but Alcantara is big for his class and might just push Araujo around at will.
Not a fan of Team Alpha Male, but boy they are awesome after Duane Ludwig took over. Dillashaw might be the real deal.
Palhares vs Pierce has Pierce trash-talking a bit, but classic striker/grappler vs BJJ. I think Pierce does enough to win.
Beltran vs Maldonado - whomever hits the hardest. My pick is Maldo by KO.
Silva vs Hamill - hard to take Hamill seriously and Silva on a roll after getting back into the UFC. Gotta lean Silva.
Erick Silva has looked impressive in nearly all of his fights in the UFC and finally gets some good competition. Look for the younger guy to knock off the veteran in the second or third.
Maia has, late in his career, finally added some standup to his arsenal. But never count Shields out. I'm not a fan of his boring style, but he's gritty and boy he has a chin.
