UFC on FX 7: Belfort vs Bisping Picks and Predictions!

UFC ON FX 7: BELFORT VS. BISPING, January 19th, Sao Paulo, Brazil

    Fight Card
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    Vitor Belfort vs. Michael Bisping
    C.B. Dollaway vs. Daniel Sarafian
    Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Ben Rothwell
    Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Thiago Tavares
    Godofredo Castro vs. Milton Vieira
    Andrew Craig vs. Ronny Markes
    Nik Lentz vs. Diego Nunes
    Edson Barboza vs. Lucas Martins
    Yuri Alcantara vs. Pedro Nobre
    Ildemar Alcantara vs. Wagner Prado
    C.J. Keith vs. Francisco Trinaldo

Dana has already said the winning will get (another?) shot at Jon Jones. I like Bisping as I think he's fought a lot of top fighters and though I was on Chael Sonnen - I thought Bisping won the fight. I also like Ben Rothwell here vs Gabriel Gonzaga. I think I'll probably be on Nurmagomedov and Diego Nunes, and Barboza to bounce back.

    More picks later!

    Parlay:

    Khabib Nurmagomedov over Thiago Tavares
    Diego Nunes vs Nik Lentz
    +149 for two units

Michael Bisping -115 over Vitor Belfort - think Bisping is due here for a title shot. He's struggled in the past during a penultimate shot, but think he gets it done here. His range and TDD has been great lately, and besides home field advantage, I don't see Belfort having much of an advantage anywhere else (besides obvious punching power). I'm willing to take the short favorite here.

Wagner Prado -230 over Ildemar Alcantara - I see that this is Yuri's brother who wasn't really on the UFCs radar here. Yuri normally fights at 185 but is stepping up to fight on short notice vs a big 205er with heavy hands. Prado struggled vs Phil Davis because of a poor mismatch, but with two guys who want to fight on their feet, I see Prado steamrolling the Alcantara boy. I'll be taking this to WIN four units.

Love Nunes against Lentz. Like Saravian to take care of business too. Parlaying those 2.

I'm torn on the Belfort fight. I agree with your view on Bisping, and will add that he is tough as nails and can easily go the distance. The TDD should allow this to happen as long he doesn't get caught with the big one and I think belfort rushes him from the start. Should be a good fight.

Enjoy the fights and Good luck!

Unfortunately Prado doesn't cash and I take a big unit loss. That was disappointing. I wonder if he's just a hype-machine that might end up being cut if he doesn't get a can-win next fight?

Also looks like Nunes got absolutely wrestlef3cked and will continue to be a striker-only. His defense vs the clench is pretty sad.

Looks like a bad event but we'll continue to roll on.

Apologies to anyone who tailed, was a terrible card for me. And it was pretty bad to watch too. We'll get them back next time!
