    Taylor vs Pavlik

So whats up, where is everyone at on this one?

We all know I have to back Pavlik on this one, Hatton on the next.

Pavlik to steal the championship rounds, if it goes that far...
    Kick his ass Seabass!!!

Kelly, you have a history with Jermain Taylor in the ring as the two of you fought at the U.S. Olympic trials before the 2000 games. Can you take anything away from the time you two fought or is it too long ago?

There’s really no comparison. It was definitely too long ago. I was 17 years old and that makes a huge difference. I still gave him a good fight and right now I’m stronger and more mature. I’m also 25 now and have experience, so there’s not too much you can take out of that fight.

Kelly, A lot of Taylor’s opponents have been smaller guys. Do you feel like once he feels your power, that will be the turning point in the fight?

Oh yeah, that’s when he will start running. He hasn’t been in there with a natural middleweight, let alone a big middleweight and he’s gotten hurt. Ever since he was hurt by Bernard Hopkins, who is not really a big puncher, he started fighting the smaller guys. We’ll see how he adapts to somebody that is going to throw 70 punches, 80 punches a round if not more, with power on each one of those shots.

Line jumped today. Was -115 a piece and now it's -140 for Taylor so you should be getting decent odds with Pavlik, V3. I am torn on this one, I want to root for Pavlik (and I wanted to go but I have to go to a stupid engagement party instead where the damn fight won't even be on if the party runs into the night at all), I think Taylor might win a close fight but I also agree that the size and strength of Pavlik is a big issue for Jermain here.

I'll prob keep watching the line movement too and still am undecided if I'm going to play it at all.

Ha, I've missed weddings for fights. I don't care. I kid you not, I am missing half of a bachelors party for this fight and my friends are pissed. They are fight fans, but strip clubs, drinks etc. is worth more to them. Understandable I guess, but I'm not going to miss this fight, for anything. I would push my own wedding back for a big fight.

Stay home, watch the fight and go to the engagement later/after. They will forget about it.

Ya, this is his last fight at MW, then Jermain is moving up. I think this is a pre-excuse. The after fight will be "I just cant make this weight anymore, etc.". Take Pav in the over, mini parlay, just for fun. If you are going to watch it, might as well put a quick 10 spot on it just for kicks.

Weigh-in should be interesting. A couple of my buddies are going and are worried that the white/black thing could be an issue since it's in AC and it's not very nice there unless you're in a casino but they should have a great time I think.

              Weigh ins had no problems.

I can only put a little on this one, and I was planning on going fairly big onit. I had a horrible week 3 in ther NFL and Sept. baseball has been tough for me, so I'm in the red for maybe the 2nd time this year. Sucks, but oh well.

              1U Pavlik +120

Wanted to take Mendoza at +1300 for a half, but the local wouldnt take it.

              Some good fights tonight.

Good luck V3! Im well aware of your system as I have gotten my ass kicked by it several times...LOL! I just got done watching the hype show on HBO and I have no idea. One second I think this will be the fight where Jermaine wins the fans back by dominating the no. 1 contender, the next minute I say, "Damn that Pavlick is tough and keeps coming". This has the potential for major fireworks! I just hope it lives up to the hype. Since the you have loot on kelly, Ill be pulling for you, but Im too much of a pussy to place any on it...ha, ha. I just hope it ends early so I can switch over to the strike force fights. :beer2:

Good luck guys, check in with you after the fights!:beerbang:

I think Mendoza has a better chance than people and the books are giving him. It's mostly that lately these Colombian fighters have suprised me. They come through in the clutch, win a big fight, and then sort of diminish from there. Hopefully for you (and I couldnt get action on it) Mendoza comes through with a KO.

                        Pav's got this one.

Ya, Berto for sure. David Estrada is Spadafora, just up in weight with a lot less skill.
Take Spadafora, and dilute it...you'll have Estrada. Mosley touched him up, and Mosley is old.
