Iowa State beat Iowa in 2014. In 2012, Iowa State beat Baylor in Ames 35-21.
From then until now, Iowa St. hasnt done much of anything. The Cyclones did
lose to Tulsa in the 2012 Liberty Bowl; so thats kinda cool?! Look, Ive
been to Amesits an awful lot like Forrest Gump, Theres Corn with corn,
Corn souffl, corn pie, corn stew, corn-corn and corn ad nauseum. And
theres nothing wrong with corn! But Iowa State seems quite a bit like cornNo
need to take a good look before sampling, youll be seeing the same thing
intact time and time again (season after season! Baylor on the other hand
is in a bit of a personal identity crisis. One week the Bears think theyre
Oregon with the helmet/uniform Diva Dressup Dance and the next moment,
theyre sending June Jones off to a Fort Myers Old Folks Home! Holy Lord!
The Jekyll and Hyde act in WACKO is making my head spin. Blowing out Iowa
State last year (71-7) and then the year previous (as duly noted), pinching
off a Cyclone handing Iowa State a bowl of False Hope in a 35-21 embarrassment.
AnywayBaylor vs Iowa State in Jack Not Once but Trice Stadium this Saturday
Night! Lets see wholl rule The Big-ish 12 prairie in 2014.
3rd in Passing Offense, 28th in Rushing Offense, 1st in Scoring Offense, 1st overall in Total Offense, 3rd in Rushing Defense, and 4th in Overall Defense; its easy to see why Baylor is a big favorite against Iowa State! Wellnot really. Baylor has put their numbers up against some of the absolute worst College Football Teams ever assembled! SM Smells Like? U, Northwestern University (An Online School??) and The University of Who The Hell Scheduled a Home and Home With Baylor Buffalo are forever part of Baylor lore as recipients of some of the worst drive-bys conceived by an Athletic Director. Iowa State, in comparison, beat Iowawho lost to a flunky Pitt team last weekend. ISU did put up a great fight against Kansa State prior to beating Iowa. But ISU got smoked by North Dakota State in their Season/Home Opener 34-14 provingonce againbeing terrible is a way of life in western Iowa. But Iowa State is not grotesquely bad (like SMU, Northwestern State). ISU is just regular terrible ala Temple, Wake Forest, and Northwestern (werent they forming a Union? HA! Theyre ALL fired!). Iowa State is the perennial Basement Boy sitting next the broken dryer and listening to Zepplin LPs while playing pool on an unbalanced table. But they did beat Iowawho is also a regular terrible! This game is so difficult to call?! Baylors 2nd and 3rd Teams have gotten more work thus far this season than the starters. Iowa State looks like their waiting for the Ritalin to kick in but I dont know if theyve lost theyre prescription?
3 touchdowns and a line in the water (+22) is a tough sell playing an in-conference opponent on their turf wheresurprisinglyIowa State has played Baylor tough (in Ames)! The last 2 times Baylor has ventured into the land where formaldehyde bubbles (Ames) Iowa State has put the wood to Baylorwinning 35-21 in 2012, and winning 24-10 in 2009. Curiously, Baylor had 7 total turnovers in those games combined compared with ISUs 3! Is pigskin made out of corn in Ames? Even with all of that said, ANY FBS Team who opens up at Home against a FCS Team and gets run out of their own building (like ISU vs NDSU!) is no friend of mine! Baylor rolls and hopefully—for ISUs sake—puts another aging dinosaur of a coach on the Cruise Ship Lollipop collecting SS checks! Baylor rolls!!!!!
Tims Pick to Cover the Point Spread: Baylor -22
