Arkansas vs. Missouri Betting Preview: Stupid Asterisk Play of the Week
Arkansas vs Missouri – Who to Bet On?
It’s the last week of the regular season for college football.
It’s been a good year.
I padded my bank account and had a LOT of fun. Hopefully helped to do the same for you, too.
Going into the title games next week and the bowls that follow, I’ve made some extra cash to play with.
But it’s not “house money.”
When you’re at a casino and you lose a hand of blackjack they take your chips. Do they consider it your money? Are they just holding on to it for you for a few minutes? Do they call it “Player money?”
No.
And when their money goes into your pocket, it’s not house money anymore.
It’s your money.
Don’t be loose with it, play it as you would normally, as if you were just stepping up to the betting window and pulling cash out of your wallet.
That’s why I’m not playing this last week of the regular season any differently than the previous weeks.
I’m not increasing the number of games, I bet. I’m not increasing the dollar amount of my bets.
It’s not “house money” I’m playing with, it’s “my money.”
And I plan on keeping it.
And for my last play of the season, you KNOW where I’m going.
Same play as Charlotte last week.
Same play that’s been working for me all year long in every sport I’ve tried it in.
WF2 says Arkansas should be the Fav in this game.
WF1 says, “I don’t think so.”
And the difference between WF1’s number and the spread qualifies it for . . .
Well, you know.
The play was a perfect 3-0 in football last week. Overall football record is now 26-11, 70% for Faders,17-9 college, 9-2 NFL.
I used it for recommended plays in my articles on the Charlotte 49ers and the Tampa Bay Bucs.
I didn’t buy the third play, N Dame -14, because I didn’t like the line.
Bad move on my part as the Irish won by 35. But as usual, I posted it in the PredictEm forum (I’m a giver) in case anyone was looking for angles on the game.
This week the play says take Mizoo.
Team stats are pretty equal, with a slight edge to Arkansas in passing yards. But that edge is nullified as Missouri is much better at defending the pass than Arkansas.
The Razorbacks are 3-0 ATS on the Rd which might have been of concern but the Tigers come in at 4-2 ATS at Hm, so no worries there.
Massey’s ratings have a big edge for Arkansas for strength of schedule, with the 16th toughest ranked schedule in the nation compared to Missouri at number 38.
Slight edge, Razorbacks.
Like most games, a case can be made for either side, trends can be found to support either side. So, as always, I’ll stick with what works, in this case, well, you know the play’s name.
At 6-5 Arkansas will get invited to a bowl game even with a loss on Saturday (SEC privilege.)
Mizoo is 8-3. Like Arkansas, the Tigers have no chance to win the division, no chance to make the playoffs, and not a lot of incentive this week, either.
So the question is – which of these two teams will be focused and care enough to win what is pretty much a meaningless game?
I don’t know.
And I’m not going to go crazy looking at coaching tendencies and other angles to try and figure it out.
Why not?
Because . . .
The Stupid Asterisk Play.
When to Buy Recommendation
The Tigers opened at -3′, but the line’s been bought down to -3, with juice ranging anywhere from -115 to -105. It’s not going to get any better than -3, so I bought the play this morning.
Recap: 1-1
Record: 17-8
Review:
Lost my Saturday morning play on Mississippi.
What a difference a week makes. Just 7 days ago, I wrote about how Lincoln Riley finally got the monkey off his back about never being able to win a big game.
The Rebel’s win over #3 Georgia made it look like Riley ditched the monkey and solidified their inclusion in the playoffs.
But then Mississippi went out and lost as a 7-point favorite to Florida.
Hello monkey, goodbye playoffs.
Got the unit back in the afternoon game as Charleston came through with a win in the Stupid Asterisk Play. (Yes, I’d like to come up with a real name, a better name for the play, but I’m stupidstitious, and as they say, “You don’t fix what ain’t broken.”)
