Following a big rivalry victory last week the Florida Gators now own the inside track in the SEC East. They’ll aim to stay on that track when they host the upstart Arkansas Razorbacks for an SEC cross-divisional bout Saturday night at the Swamp. Florida’s favored by better than two touchdowns for this one but Arkansas is a live dog this season, going 6-0 against the spread. How are we playing this game with our free college football pick?
College Football Betting Odds
College football betting odds opened Florida as a 17-point favorite over Arkansas, with an over/under of right around 62. Early betting action then added a half-point to that spread.
Razorbacks vs. Gators Betting Preview
After winning two games each of its last two seasons Arkansas is off to a 3-3 start to this season, following a 24-13 come-from-behind triumph over Tennessee last week. The Hogs trailed the Volunteers 13-0 at the half, then scored touchdowns on their first three possessions of the second half to take the lead and hung on from there for the outright victory as two-point underdogs.
Arkansas out-gained Tennessee 413-292 and won the turnover battle 2-0.
Two weeks ago the Razorbacks only trailed at Texas A&M 28-17 well into the third quarter, let the game get away from there but scored twice in the fourth quarter to cover through the back-door as 14-point underdogs.
In fact, Arkansas is 4-0 ATS this season as a double-digit dog, covering 28 points against Georgia, beating Mississippi State outright while getting 16 points and nearly upsetting Auburn at +13.
At 3-3 overall the Hogs need a couple more wins over their last four games to be considered for a bowl, but they’ve still got some tough games ahead, including a date with Alabama.
The news out of Arkansas early this week is that Coach Pittman will miss this game after testing positive for the C-19. So DC Odom, the former HC at Missouri, will coach the Hogs Saturday.

Florida, meanwhile, upped its record to 4-1 last week with a 44-28 win over Georgia. The Gators spotted the Bulldogs the first 14 points of the game, then exploded to lead 38-21 at the half and cruised from there for the outright victory as 2.5-point dogs.
Florida out-gained UGA 571-277, made 29 first downs to only 12 for the Dawgs, dominated time of possession by a 37:23 split and won the turnover battle 3-1.
The Gators have now out-gained four of their five opponents this season, the last two by a combined 560 yards.
Two weeks ago Florida beat Missouri 41-17, covering at -13.5.
At 4-1 in conference play the Gators lead the SEC East by a half-game and a tie-breaker over second-place Georgia. And Florida will be favored for each of its last four games. If they don’t stumble somewhere over these last few weeks the Gators will play in the upcoming SEC championship game.
These teams have played three common opponents so far this season; Florida owns wins over Ole Miss and Georgia and a loss to Texas A&M while Arkansas owns a win over the Rebels and losses to the Bulldogs and Aggies.
Hogs-Gators History
Florida beat Arkansas nine times in a row from 1995-2013 but the Razorbacks won the most recent meeting, four seasons ago, 31-10.

Florida is the better team here and should win this game but Arkansas, with Franks and a decent defense, should be able to keep things close. Plus, playing at home, even with limited attendance, probably means the Gators are favored by a bit too much. We like the Hogs plus the points here.
