Man, man, man…the takeaways from week fifteen. Is this a replay of last season? The Eagles lose Carson Wentz…Nick Foles takes over and in his first game leads the Eagles to a huge win on the road…are the Philadelphia Eagles about to go on a run again? Probably not, but this game against the Texans on Sunday will be very interesting. Sportsbooks have the Philly at -2. Do they follow the script and get the win against the spread?

Although both teams have played questionable football as of late, the Jacksonville Jaguars come into this game as a full touchdown favorite (-7). My guess is that they trust the quarterback play of Jacksonville regardless of whether it is Kessler or Bortles over the Redskins. As of late Monday night, Jacksonville was getting much of the early action. Are players on the right side giving up the TD? Bob Clark gives his NFL analysis.

Week 14 was a good week for the Bengals. Okay, yes, I know they lost but they went into the game against the LA Chargers as nearly 17 point underdogs. The final ended with the Chargers squeaking out a 26-21 win in a game that was actually much closer than the final score. With that said, was the Bengals close game against a much better team on paper a result of a team that is coming together and playing for each other, or was it the result of a Chargers team that took them too lightly? The Bengals are 3 point favorites hosing the Raiders.

When you talk about bad offenses in the 2018 NFL season, the Arizona Cardinals come to mind…quickly. These guys suck! Arizona is averaging just 158 yards passing per game and another 84 on the ground. That is an average of just 242 TOTAL YARDS PER GAME. Now, the Falcons have had some issues on defense but even so, it will be a tough task for Arizona to move the ball. Is the enough of an angle to bet the chalk? The Sportsbooks have the Falcons as 8.5 point favorites.

From an injury standpoint, both teams have quite a few players who are listed as “Day to Day” and/or “Questionable” going into Sunday’s game. For the Saints, it is still unclear if Brandon Marshall will make his debut for the team. Along with Marshall on the injury list and questionable for Sunday are Trey Hendrickson and Zach Line. Both are questionable for Sunday and it is still unclear what their status will be come game time. For the Buccaneers, Desean Jackson is day to day with a thumb injury and sources say he should be able to go Sunday. And there are 4 others on the injury report so how do we handicap this game? As reports continue to come in, it appears more and more like Lamar Jackson will be getting the start for the Baltimore Ravens in place of Joe Flacco who is still battling injury. Along with the potential absence of Flacco, Baltimore also has Alex Collins, Tavon Young, James Hurst, and Tim Williams all listed as “questionable” for this weeks game against Atlanta. Meanwhile the Falcons get linebacker Deon Jones back from the IR. Can the banged up Falcons cover the spread? Bob Clark offers his NFL prediction.

Despite the Panthers recent struggles, they have a great opportunity to turn things around this week against a weak Buccaneers defense. In fact, Carolina’s offense behind quarterback Cam Newton and running back Christian McCaffrey have won 3 straight against the Buccaneers. If you stretch those trends out further, Newton has won 9 of the last 11 meetings against the Buccaneers as well. Is there strong enough data to show bookmakers got it wrong giving Carolina 3.5?

Just like every week, the Seattle Seahawks will attempt to allow their run game to dictate the tempo and success of their offense. Through the entire 2018 season so far, the Seahawks are averaging 154 yards a game on the ground and just under 200 a game passing. Running the read option with Russell Wilson is a huge part of this teams offense and that will not stop come Sunday. How will their predictable game plan play out vs Carolina? The Colts have gone on a great run over the last month and much of the success is due to the play of Andrew Luck. A few years back, Andrew Luck was supposed to be the next great QB but after a few years of injuries, many thought his career could be over. He proved them wrong…at least so far. This year, Luck has passed for almost 3,000 yards and 29 touchdowns…yes, 29 touchdowns in just ten games. Does the Miami defense offer enough to slow Luck and stay within 9 for Dolphin backers?
